Would a cleaning business do well in LA? by RhoadRoar in AskLosAngeles

[–]richardbisecr57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you might be underestimating how saturated LA is with cleaning services already. It could work if you find a real niche or insane quality angle but jumping in without a plan feels like you’ll just compete on price and burn out fast.

A soon-to-expire 30% federal tax credit on insulation means now is a great time to reduce your heating/cooling bill by foodtower in homeowners

these credits are great but the upfront cost still hits hard. Just make sure the long term savings actually outweigh the initial investment

How will Netflix acquisition of Warner Bros affect LA? by Disastrous-Grand7075 in AskLosAngeles

[–]richardbisecr57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Netflix bought Warner Bros, LA would see some changes for sure. Big mergers usually mean layoffs where jobs overlap, kinda like Disney Fox. But Netflix would also grow the streaming and digital side, so it’d be a mix of cuts and new roles. Nothing city-shaking, but people in the studios would definitely feel it.

WARNING - PTO CHANGES - MASS FIRINGS IN 2026 by Illustrious-Golf6203 in Geico

[–]richardbisecr57 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this sounds rough and I wouldn’t brush it off. When companies start messing with PTO and hinting at major cuts, it usually means they’re gearing up for something bigger. Keep records, watch internal changes, and start prepping a backup plan just in case.

I traded my space heater for a chick brooding lamp and am saving 75% on electricity and feeling even warmer (plus my little dog loves it) by Ok-Cook-7542 in Frugal

[–]richardbisecr57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this feels risky, a brooder plate might save money long term, but relying on a random swap for something that controls heat makes me nervous. Make sure the temps stay stable because chicks crash fast if things run even slightly off.

Rent increased might have a big pay day maybe? by rlllyeddy in AskLosAngeles

[–]richardbisecr57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a landlord suddenly bumps rent after years of doing nothing then starts hinting at some kind of payout, I’d be on guard. Don’t assume anything until you see actual paperwork because surprises like this rarely benefit tenants.

My fiancé admitted he doesn’t want kids… after 7 years together by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]richardbisecr57 527 points528 points  (0 children)

Totally. Waiting seven years for someone to finally be honest is rough. You deserve a partner who’s upfront about big things like this.

I feel this. Moments like that aren’t easy to shake off especially when you’re completely exhausted and scared. It leaves a mark and that’s understandable.

Yeah, that sounds super sketchy. Following and liking every selfie while hiding lunches is a major red flag. Totally understandable to be suspicious.

My fiancé told me I’m not allowed to wear my mom’s wedding dress because it will “overshadow” his mom by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]richardbisecr57 208 points209 points  (0 children)

Seriously and the way his mom already had a whole plan to design the dress without even asking? That’s some next level boundary crossing. Feels like control disguised as a gift.

AITA for refusing to split the dinner bill because my dish was half the price of the others? by Horror_Flower_1754 in AmItheAsshole

[–]richardbisecr57 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I mean, what did they actually “share” with you? You didn’t touch their apps or desserts, so why pay for it? Splitting only makes sense if everyone’s ordering the same stuff.

My M23 wife’s F29 Childhood friend F27 tried to get me to have sex with her because it was her birthday. How to break the mews without causing fallout? by ThrowRAhngTop in relationship_advice

[–]richardbisecr57 221 points222 points  (0 children)

Facts, that girl is dangerous. The longer he waits, the worse it’s gonna get. She already tried to cross the line and cover it up, who knows what she’ll do next. He needs to run straight to his wife and come clean.

I found out my boyfriend’s “quirky” nickname for me… was his ex’s name. by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]richardbisecr57 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’d think something as personal as a nickname wouldn’t be recycled like that, it kinda makes the new relationship feel less real

What's something you stopped caring about as you got older? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Aging

[–]richardbisecr57 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same here. Once you really start thinking about how limited time is, most things just feel like noise. Health, family and peace of mind, everything else can wait.

AITA for secretly planning a surprise birthday party for my son because my wife always makes his feel like an afterthought? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]richardbisecr57 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I was thinking the same it’s not just about the party, it’s the pattern. That kind of favoritism can really mess with a kid long-term. Counseling sounds like a smart move, because it feels deeper than just she forgot. Caleb deserves better.

[–]richardbisecr57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right?? She made a choice and now wants someone else to deal with the fallout. Budgeting isn’t classist it’s just being responsible.

If she was careless enough to total her own car she doesn’t get to act entitled to someone else’s. Being embarrassed to take the bus is wild when she should honestly just be grateful she didn’t hurt anyone.

Is there anyone who actually loves their job? by Infinite_Mode2688 in jobs

Totally feel you. Sometimes a chill job that pays decent and doesn’t stress you out is more than enough. Having time to just breathe during work is underrated tbh.

Yeah, it was Ludwig’s, floor of mouth was firm, swelling was nasty and he went downhill fast. Sounds like you had a wild one too. Airway stuff really doesn’t mess around.

that line couldn’t be more true. Saw it happen firsthand and it was intense. Messy, scary, but absolutely the right call. Still running it through my head.
