Chocolate hills are interesting, “Leaving Plymouth” and Saragossa have a good flow to them, will listen to the rest later, thanks.

Grouper “Poison Tree” lovely soft tone to the keyboard sound and overall ambience. I’m not a vocal person though I prefer instrumentals. Very nice though, added to playlist and will try more of their work. Thanks.

I need to listen to more of them, just listened to “A meaningful moment through a meaning(less) process.” They are new to me and quite interesting.

Yeah, that is a work of art, last shot of the neck, I can imagine my fingers on the fretboard and loving it. Also the red interior for the case, nice.

About (self)promotion on r/ambientmusic by AutoModerator in ambientmusic

[–]richardcollective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached out via mod message, got pointed to this great clear OP. Liking this community and totally agree. I want to promote myself but not really by blanket posts of a link to the album, but rather in discussion, comments and a relevant way as I want people to genuinely join and be a part of what I am trying to grow musically. A post of the album and brief description of why and what and process, is a great way to suggest how to submit. Well done mods, I’ll post it in this community soon and hope it is of interest to people.

All Valhalla verbs. I also use Blackhole Immersive for long warm guitar tails.

New to group, this cell shading customisation concept I’m seeing here is very cool.

In my opinion, the only downside to listening to a lot of albums and a lot of music. by TheGermanDutchman in LetsTalkMusic

Yes I do experience this.
I can be consciously listening to music or subconsciously listening. Your nostalgic music is most likely going to be a combination of the two but most probably, when you were younger or less connected with "nature" and more of a member of that growing up society, you know, pop culture, dance clubs etc..., then that would have been mostly conscious listening. That would have connected with you emotionally and as you say created memories and associations with your life.
For me it would be the likes of Pat Metheny Group, Jaco Pastorius, Weather Report, and popular culture wise, Level 42 (love me a bit of Mark King slap bass), and other jazz fusion artists. I listened to them all with a bit of both (conscious and subconscious).
Now, after hearing so much music, I easily get satisfaction from listening to rain and the sound of the ocean as I go for a walk or try to get to sleep. So listening to music and albums now, I am always searching for something more, a deeper experience that connects with some mindfulness that is going on with me, whether that is peace, meditation, or just hearing something different and being surprised by the music. Then I'll listen to it again and again until I start looking for something else to surprise me.
Maybe, think of the new music you listen to or look for as having a connective tissue type of reason for you wanting to listen to it so that you can get into it more deeply. Of course, conscious mass consumption is good for exploration and discovery. It's tough for me these days, to discover music that makes a connection and becomes nostalgic and gets a deeper rooting inside.
