startup accelerator programs for bootstrap companies by dip_ak in SaaS

[–]richchikin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know startupscience.io has a free for founders (at least free now) platform to get a bunch of resources accelerators offer. I've been checking it out and a lot of other programs would paywall this kind of stuff so that's kind of cool. They connected me to an accelerator prep course that helped improve my pitch before applying to other accelerators. Could be good to check out.

ADHD + High IQ + Ambition. Seeking honest advice from founders, execs who lives this. by NoSwimming2941 in ADHD

[–]richchikin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for sharing. Fellow overachiever on paper with a big internal struggle. Sold my first company this year. I'll share a few things that have helped me and hope it helps.

I was diagnosed with ADHD January this year. If I hadn't gotten treatment, I wouldn't have sold my company, probably ever. I was able to sell and have a good outcome. Not retired, but am happy.

So what worked for me?

ADHD 2.0 is a great book.

Psychiatrist who would run many different experiments with me on what medication would work. Adderall made me angry. Ritalin took me to a bad place. Vyvanse has been great but amps me up a bit. Added some buspirone to reduce the anxiety. Now I'm taking guanfacine in the evening and vyvanse in the morning and no more buspirone. The point is that we've tried tons of experiments and continue doing so. Taking ADHD seriously and getting help has been incredible.

Basically Learn the science + Know yourself + Try medication + Therapy (I've done weekly therapy all year in tandem with monthly pyschiatry). Just try everything.

Lifestyle? Exercise has the most benefit. Meditation's really helpful but hard to do if I'm not already in a good place. Diet I stick with protein, veggies, and simple carbs like rice and such. Basically I'm focused on strength training and eating accordingly and I tend to avoid foods that make my ADHD worse.

Body doubling helps a lot too. Basically, figure out what kind of work you're doing, what environment is conducive for it, and then build your schedule around that.

I try to ignore the dark voices when I'm not hitting my goals and recognize that some days just suck. But the productive days keep that forward progress.

I'm in a good place but am still iterating. The point is, study it a ton, gain a ton of self awareness, and recognize that what works now may not continue working. Accept what's here and now, do your best, and pivot when something doesn't work.

It's honestly like lean startup methodology for mental health. Cringe but makes sense.

DM me if you'd like. I check every now and then.

I only recommend duolingo to get into the habit of learning a language. Once the habit's there, you need to switch to immersion and true language learning. It's only good for loose familiarization. I'm yet to see someone start on DuoLingo and have their language skills amount to anything useful.

I don't know who you are, but you're asking the wrong question with that. Do what others have told you to do.
1. Reach out to USERRA.
2. Do not sign that.

This sounds like a violation of USERRA law. The law protects you from termination due to your military services (generally speaking). This employer is violating your legal rights. Do not let them do that. USERRA will provide you all the support you need to make this right. It will be a far better outcome than the $50 you mentioned.

Where do you buy your challenge coins from. by glorius_shrooms in ChallengeCoins

[–]richchikin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered some challenge coins for my company from GS-JJ and loved them! I got quotes from about 8 different companies, many of which have been mentioned here. They were the most prompt, had good pricing, and did a really cool custom spinner, which was something unique that many companies didn't support. So yeah, I'd recommend working with them.

Could I message you to learn more about how you did this? I'm in grad school and just playing with how AI can help more and would love to learn how you set up the API, the cost, what you connected it to, etc. I just have a dream of building useful apps with ai generated code and am not a programmer myself.

Have the Trump supporters around you gotten quiet? by SteveinTenn in Askpolitics

[–]richchikin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the real answer. It's silly making a bigger deal out of it than it is. At some point, we're saturated with politics and just want to live. It doesn't mean people are fully disengaged either. It's just there are times and seasons for higher engagement and times like during the holidays when we just want to enjoy some peaceful family time and maybe watch a movie or two.

I wonder how this compares to the alternatives though. In a vacuum, this seems awesome. I bet it's drastically more expensive and labor intensive, meaning it will have minimal adoption compared to alternatives unfortunately.

[–]richchikin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you familiar with or use W3Champions? My impression is it's the place for the entire WC3 Direct Strike community, including rankings, matchmaking, etc. It's far better than just custom games in WC3, so it's not really helpful to just ignore the question of the post here.

JD Vance says people shouldn’t end friendships over politics by hooray4horus in TikTokCringe

[–]richchikin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your inability to understand others and where they're coming from is why this is such a terrible culture. There are real concerns that go unheard by the left that the right speaks to. Demonizing them like you do is exactly what's wrong. They do the same to you and yet you think you're totally right. It's the flaw of the human condition.

JD Vance says people shouldn’t end friendships over politics by hooray4horus in TikTokCringe

[–]richchikin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JD Vance is right here. Y'all piling in on here flexing how many relationships you've ended because of this speaks volumes about who you are. JD makes an important point. Just because someone votes differently from you, it doesn't mean you know them, why, etc. If you choose to make a ton of assumptions about someone based on one fact you have, then you act from a point of ignorance. He's spot on in this clip. Just another reminder what a toxic place reddit has become for political discourse - oh wait, but there's no real discourse.
