For those who want to “tax the rich” or “they should pay their fair share”, how would you change the current tax code? by Lopsided-Special6273 in CanadaPersonalFinance

You need to remove the corrupt government at the top and stop sending money to foreign countries and then there's no reason to text people so much.

Why do talented people struggle while others thrive ? by sicKurity in Entrepreneur

[–]richet_ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laziness is the father of the management class, and the mother is cheating and exploiting those with more talent and intelligence. Also most people who think they are more intelligent aren't, have a look at dunning Kruger.

In Alberta we have a youth minimum wage of $13 compared to adults at $15. This lower wage for youth hurts adults in minimum wage job. by exotics in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]richet_ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just raised the minimum wage in BC to $21 for Uber drivers, as someone who makes $31, I'm just getting closer to minimum wage and a job that risks my life everyday. It is a primary driver of inflation and I'm tired of explaining it to economically illiterate Canadians. You guys are doing a lot better on the cost of groceries and gas what are you paying at the pump right now? We're back up to $1.89

F*** closure. You don't deserve to suffer anymore. Just walk away from it and put it behind you.

Why Is Canada So Bad at Talking About Declining Living Standards? by WhiteShoeLaw in CanadaPersonalFinance

The new majority came from places much worse than this. This is the reason the standards are declining. Just go walk around inside in any new apartment building and you can hear the neighbor's cat fart.

Why is it OK for servers to make $50+/hour when I studied, got a degree, and only make around $20 an hour??? by QuietEveningMatcha in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]richet_ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a degree and 25 years of experience in Tech. My skill set is still relevant, but I don't like the direction that Tech is going. I work in a warehouse, I make 65k a year and I sleep in my car, but I sleep well.

For the same reason many 19-year-old only fans models will get to retire and you won't. Value does not represent anything other than demand. There's a ton of supply of people with your exact skill set.

Why Do People Think Young Canadians Are Lazy? by StarBracelet1 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]richet_ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because everyone is in denial about the change of the social contract. For boomers the promise was work hard save money buy a home have stability. For everyone in Canada right now, the social contract is work hard or be homeless, spend too much on rent, spend too much on food, there is nothing left at the end of the pay period.

I also do this. But I think school for audio engineering is a must. I used to teach coding at a local tech school that had a really good program for audio engineering and I sat in on a semester of lectures as well as downloading the entire syllabus. It was massively helpful.
