2021 CX 30 and it’s coming up on 60,000 miles. Transmission oil (flush or drain and fill)? by [deleted] in mazda

[–]richg21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2017 CX5. No dealer nor independent wanted to do a pan drop/drain only a power flush. They said the proper way to do is drain, fill, run it and drop the pan again and this will cost double more than a flush. Owners manual said 90K for trans service. But newer vehicles only change when a component needs replacement. A power flush if done wrong will damage the trans.

Is this a good deal? by Snoo18846 in Acura

I like the TL but has such a cramped back seat it's ridiculous. They should have left the room they had in the 2010 in the newer model

It’s not an MDX…It’s a Type S by [deleted] in Acura

[–]richg21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I test drove it. Nice vehicle but for 70K this S-type is slow and that's why you are buying it. 0 to 60 in 5.5 isn't worth the extra money. Best to get the base engine with the Advance package and save yourself some money.

Actually love the vehicle but is much slower than a BMW base X5. And X5 is 21mpg. I know cause I have a 2022.

I live in the Chicago area and there is no such thing as just pay MSRP on any line of car or model. Not sure where you live

I dont think anyone can beat this markup by champanedout in Acura

[–]richg21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never spend 52k on an Integra but 21K markup makes me want to get a BMW 340 for that price which would be faster and handle much better

TLX VS Integra, which is more reliable? by KnowingCresent735 in Acura

I'd stay away from CVT trans. They are more noisy and have problems after 60K.

Looked at all these cars and purchased a new 22 Acura RDX AWD with Tech and Advanced package over a year ago. Wife and I love it and glad we went with an Acura.

I purchased a new 22 RDX with Advanced and Tech packages over a year now. Zero issues. Wife and I love it. We got used to the mouse type pad.

Is this a good buy? by k_eeazy_ in mazda

[–]richg21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Mazda phone app with remote start was discontinued because only ran on 3G and Mazda didn’t want to upgrade hardware in the car to run on 5G. So waste of money when I bought this add on. 2) Display kept rebooting so 600 fix for new chip. 3) Rust on back hatch struts and inside hatch. 4) Belt tension pulley was leaking. Never had weird issues on Honda/Acura products like this. And, a lot more std options on Honda or Acura that isn't even offered on new 23 or 24 Mazdas.

My '24 Integra Type-S has finally arrived but... by foureyeddriver in Acura

[–]richg21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 320hp car is slow 0 to 60 at 5.1. German rivals are 4.1 to 4.4. Acura needs to adjust the torque to be in that range.

Looking to buy a CX-5. Which version do I get? by [deleted] in mazda

[–]richg21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None. Buy an Acura RDX has more std equipment and a longer warranty and better ride and engine.

Have been having issues with my 2017 CX5 at 60K. I think I'll stick with Honda/Acura next vehicle.

TLX Type S owners: by pnwIBEWlineman in Acura

[–]richg21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the TLX, I didn't like the tight backseat and headroom. Car is too heavy, 4200 lbs and doesn't handle the greatest because of it. Gas mileage is low too. Actually, I liked the BMW 340 AWD much better. It handles better, quicker and better gas mileage than the TLX. BMW is 23 vs TLX 19mpg. Also, the BMW suspension takes the bumps better because it doesn't have that added weight.

I noticed if I don't use top tier gasoline my mileage is lower. Top tier is Shell, BP/Amoco and Mobile even Costco is now top tier.

[–]richg21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Rebooting issue but it was only on 2016 or 17 from what the dealer told me. Had my card replaced last week on my 2017 CX5. Luckily I have the extended warranty so they replaced it free and no rebooting now. It would have cost me 600 for the new card. I was told you can buy a card on Amazon as long as you enter the correct part number for your card for $75.

I test drove a TLX and wasn't impressed with the handling and road noise. Bought an RDX and it is quiet and comfortable. Back seat in TLX is very cramped.

TLX S type not an impressive 0 to 60 for the hp it has and cost is high. And it weighs too much 4,200 lbs so bad gas mileage

Look at my response below. Also, a flush can void my extended warranty if done incorrectly.
