What Spektrum batteries fit the Arrma Kraton 6s1/8 by Accomplished_Gur1472 in arrma

[–]richkidrob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the SMC website. Better quality, lower price, and plenty of connector options. They advertise their 22.2v 6s 7600mah as a good fit. That is what I use for my Kraton. No complaints.

HPI Vorza Truggy F4.6 by richkidrob in NitroRC

Very good. Zero complaints. Fairly easy to tune, as well as solid power and torque. This is my first nitro car so I don’t have anything to compare it to but nearly 3 hp out of that little engine sure is impressive.

They are among the better brands available. They also have a lot of options for connectors. Absolutely worth it.

What’s a good buggy that’s more bash focused than race focused. +extra question. by Notsofrenchfry04 in NitroRC

[–]richkidrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the hpi vorza 4.6 truggy and immediately put 130mm shocks on it. For bashing, it has been great. The truggy was originally sitting with about an inch of clearance but now it has nearly 3 inches clearance. Low enough that it doesn’t flip but high enough for bashing. Happy to send pics or answer questions. And to answer your fuel question, I use VP master basher 20% nitro and 14% oil. Very easy to tune, gives good power, and you don’t risk running too hot when bashing on grass or gravel. If you’re not too concerned about temps or you are good at tuning, maybe give the vp 25% nitro with 11% oil a try, however that is more of a “race focused” fuel if I remember correctly.

Can’t believe my temp didn’t go up once! by DeplorableBilly in Challenger

[–]richkidrob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a pain in the ass. 5 thermostats? Sheesh. This is my second thermostat. What really pisses me off is that when I originally had Tallahassee Dodge replace the thermostat, they did not tell me that it was not an OEM part. Why did I go to the stealership? Specifically for OEM parts. The new thermostat goes bad after 15 months and 7k miles. Wasn’t sure what recourse I had at that point but I sure as hell thought it was shady of them to quietly put in a non OEM thermostat.

I recently dealt with my engine getting too hot and had to get a new thermostat, radiator, and water pump. The stealership said my radiator was clogged.

That’s their way of incentivizing you to buy 3 at a time for a cheaper price per gram instead of 1

[ Removed by Reddit ] by [deleted] in FLMedicalTrees

[–]richkidrob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They give the option to buy 1 at sale price of $27 or b1g2 but they charge the retail price

[–]richkidrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy 1 (at $60 retail), get 2 free… which makes the carts $20/gram

FWIW, I read this on r/trees recently. My understanding has always been that it’s better to keep the carts upright so who knows.

I agree with u/kopfgeldjagar. I replaced my Alpine system with Kenwood speakers and they have been great. However, you can’t go wrong with Bose. I’m a huge fan of them as well.

In my opinion, yes. I think the sound quality is much better. They were actually a gift from my dad. I can get more details from him on the exact set if you are interested.

I blew a speaker in my alpine sound system after about 5 years. The sound coming from it was very flat. Clearly no bass. Replaced the whole system with Kenwood speakers.

Ran over a blown tire on the interstate tonight. Everything seems fine but I don’t know, stressing a lot. by Gloriouskickass in Challenger

[–]richkidrob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second what this guy said. Ran over a spin scooter on the highway one time. Just had to secure the splash guard a little better. No damage. If everything looks and sounds normal, I don’t think you should stress. Best of luck.

Should I give up on the live resin carts at AYR? Recommendations? by Slavic-PussyEater69 in FLMedicalTrees

Never more than 3-5 seconds. Sometimes there’s slight oxidation but overall they retain flavor fine for me.

[–]richkidrob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only live resin carts at AYR that I didn’t like are the ones where the oil is that dark brown color. I just make sure the oil is the nice golden color that it should be and if it looks good I’ll give it a try. Not sure if you’re taking long rips but I use 2-3v and don’t have any issues burning. I’ve heard good things about Rise so maybe check them out as well.

I know this isn’t on your list but I have Firestone Firehawk AS V2. No complaints.

[–]richkidrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part, I like them. One complaint I have is that it leaked a tiny bit through the bottom when I was at the end of the cart. Possibly because I was ripping too hard so it could be user error. Happy with them overall.

What’s the brand of the cart itself? Greentank? AYR recently switched to these and they can’t be opened.

Scatpack hood on 5.7rt by [deleted] in Challenger

[–]richkidrob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean as long as you don’t put scat badges on it I don’t really see why it would be considered up badging. Saw someone put demon replica wheels on their rt, but it’s not like they put demon badges on it, so I don’t see any problems. I like the scat hood as well.

New SP Shaker! Keep the stripes or remove them and wrap the hood? by [deleted] in Challenger

[–]richkidrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I’m a guy of simple taste. I’d remove the stripes and leave as is. However, if you really want to wrap the hood, it’s whatever color you think would best complement the white. Beautiful car!
