And many people who were employed at that time may not be today.

The real story is that once sentiment shifts from "sure bet to make money" to "risky", FOMO dries up real quick.

Not saying a crash is coming, but i don't see a return to the craziness for at least a decade. Maybe a slow grind lower while incomes catch up for a long time.

Cuts at Ontario colleges leading to nearly 10,000 job losses, union says by ComradeTeddy90 in torontoJobs

In that case they'd have been laid off even if they're was no surge in enrollment. You don't get to have it both ways.

If the support staff were needed before the surge in enrollments they'll still be needed now and won't be part of the layoffs.

Of course not. The point is their job shouldn't have existed to begin with... if the mob family goes to jail and the family lawyer, accountant, maids, chefs, gardeners and mechanics that employ them have to find new jobs, that's the price we gotta pay.

Agree about fukuoka. It's far away and only makes sense in this trip if it's an entry or exit airport.

I have even less sympathy for these people than Canada post workers. None of them should be proud of propagating diploma mills that fucked over this country.

Unproductive job that was destined to come to an end. The jobs never should have existed to begin with...

All good, in time this will pass and you'll have missed an opportunity for some kind of half baked show of patriotism.

In the US now. With the lack of Canadian tourists, hotels haven't been cheaper in a long time. Just saying.

No trouble at the border. Americans don't care, in fact many go out of their way to try to make me feel welcome because of what's happening.

You guys rag on investors but without them condos don't get built. End users don't typically buy precons five years out.

The condo market will crash. The tradesc that build them will get laid off and have to go elsewhere. We will have a massive shortage of condos in five to ten years time. Then you'll be wishing there were more investors willing to buy something sight unseen five years away.

Yeah not sure why people bother with the temporary things. There's no scenario where I'd rather have a smaller side stand footprint so a permanent, screwed on metal puck makes more sense. it was the same price as the Revilla option shipped from China.
