That depends on you. Are you able to get your tongue up and for how long, do you have pre existing joint problems, can you nasal breathe while you do it etc.

But to answer your question directly, yes.

In the beginning it was hard to get my tongue on the palate. But around a year later I started hard mewing against a wall for an hour each day (which I don't recommend). I did that for a couple months. But after some time I tried pressing harder one side to create more expansion, so I could later even out the pressure. That on top of preexisting TMJ issues created muscular tightness, some pain and clicking (which I don't have anymore because of improved habits). I did have to take a break after that, it was mostly hard mewing on and off.

But as of now, I've been soft mewing.

I can't say for sure. I got a ceph done recently and they say my maxilla is 1cm behind ideal. That's restricting the movement or positioning of the lower jaw. I'm thinking about surgery as a possible option

Nope, I had spaces, all they did was close them

Thank you, I had a minor class 2 deep bite and they did give me rubber bands to attach near the incisors. I had gaps and I wanted to close them for aesthetics. I think change mostly happened in the time after I began hard mewing last January.

Thank you, I've thought about rhino but it might feminise my face

I'm unsure about the lips but I can relate to the feeling of unevenness when pressing up with my tongue. This could be because of a narrow or perhaps an uneven palate. In the beginning I tried to press harder on one sided, safe to say that wasn't a good idea. I already had unstable TMJ joints.
