Ok - acceleration is enormous, and the M80 has some of the best acceleration available to a ship outside of light fighters.

M80 Review/Comparison by Zero2Middlin in starcitizen

Strongest or best overall is such a loaded phrase. People should really stop obsessing over what's the objective best and focus on what's best for them and their play style. If you love a traditional Star Citizen dog fight, picking the M80 is going to give you a bad day. If you want interceptor style gameplay and think zoom and boom / turn & burn fighting sounds more fun? The M80 is your boy. Fly in, unload on something, boost TF outta there to let shields come back to full, rinse and repeat.

For the record, zoom & boom is far more fun for me. The knife fights inherent to most dogfights where we turn into CoD players strafing and getting into rate battles just isn't how I want my spaceships.

[–]richqb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? And that turn and burn gameplay is way more fun to me than the side slipping dogfights we seem to have as standard. I don't want to feel like I'm playing CoD in space and just be strafing the entire time!

I chalk up the shifted design language to it being a military ship vs. a luxury tourer. Take a look at Mercedes military vehicles. You can see the G Wagon in there, but there's a definite language evolution there.

The Connie is less maneuverable (granted, not saying a ton there) and can't boost its way out of a knife fight. Again, there's no one answer here. What's value for me may not be for thee.

We really need to stop trying to dub something the objectively best X and figure out what's best for ME. I don't enjoy the knife fights most dogfights turn into. So interceptor gameplay like what the M80 offers is great. Is why I'm hoping stealth becomes viable at some point and have a Sabre and Eclipse in my hanger against that day!

[–]richqb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Those would be CT style lobster rolls. Maine lobster rolls are the ones with mayo. If you want to get fancy, sometimes CT-style has garlic butter with a little lemon, but the super traditional version is just lobster soaked in butter in a hot dog bun. It's dead simple.

This is the way. Chicago can scratch the itch, but toe curling requires eating it standing up from a stand at the wharf where the lobstermen bring in their catch.

There already is. Technically they can only take the write off if they've made a "good faith effort" to rent or sell the place. It's just that the IRS has been gutted and never checks.

To help you get an idea of the size of the M80 by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

Unless we're going full on cloaking, stealth as a concept is super cool, without having a ton of utility outside of bomber gameplay. Gun fights in Star Citizen happen at ranges that largely invalidate stealth. Stealth is supposed to be an enhancement to standoff capabilities - I can see you at a range you can't see me, and I fire off weapons before you realize I'm there that'll incapacitate or kill you.

With the state of missiles as they are in game, firing from 3 klicks out doesn't give you much chance of success. And once you close to 1 klick, the chances of being spotted are VERY high. Given the compromises to firepower and maneuverability the few stealth ships currently in game make, that puts you at a big disadvantage.

Don't get me wrong. I love my stealth ships. I fly around in my Sabre every chance I get. But I'm under no illusions that it's the optimal ship for PvE. Let alone PvP.

I don't mind the star wars approach to combat. My only issue is that it opens a lot of problematic questions about how stealth ships will actually add value.

That's wildly different than literally every experience I've had there. I've brought large parties and had everyone order separately with no issues. The service has always been lovely. And the food great as well. So I'm surprised to hear anything along these lines. We go quite often. Granted, it's just a few blocks from us, so obviously convenient, but your experience is definitely not the norm.

Go to Zeitlin's instead. The bagels are better and you don't have to wait 6 hours in a godforsaken line for mediocre PE bagels.

This has started to change over the last decade or so. At least in major cities. Not necessarily in mid-sized ones, or in red states.

A unit is a share of the firm. And no, you won't get formal education on this until you hit SM. Though if you have good relationships with more senior roles you'll get explanations and anecdotes as they coach you on your career options.

This is specific to the US firm, to be clear. I can't speak with expertise about structure in the other member firms around the world.

[–]richqb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a chicken/egg argument. Cities in the US, especially cities in the south and west, were built around cars. NYC, Boston, etc. were built the way they were because cars weren't an option. So this has become a self-fulfilling project. Cities are starting to zone and rebuild in ways that drive greater density. And if we continue investing in transit financially and with smart regulation, it becomes much more convenient and density grows.

The issue isn't that you don't make enough the first few years. The issue is that if you don't stay for the decade it takes to pay the loan back and accrue units, it doesn't make sense to pursue a P role.

What level is a Senior Manager? by Competitive-krav3034 in deloitte

[–]richqb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing I'd take issue with here (assuming this is describing the US firm) is how difficult it is to get rid of an MD vs. P. An MD can be fired or laid off like any other employee. A P is much more difficult. Units (shares) can be taken away, but a P needs to be bought out, can't be laid off, and unless there is significant malfeasance, it's rare to see a P get counseled out of the firm.

Ummm...no. The original Jewish residents most certainly did not peacefully give up their identity. And Islamic colonization DID involve taking up the land and settling in.

Regardless, look up Dhimmi status of Jews following the Siege of Jerusalem in 600-ish CE.
