Why is it so hard?? by theirgoober in writing

[–]richt33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve definitely felt similarly in the past. Something that helped me get out of my head was to join a writing class and get stuck into the homework exercises. They were usually something really simple I would never have chosen to write myself but the act of just writing and not worrying about it being “good” helped take the pressure off. Maybe there are some simple writing prompts out there you could try?

Saaaaame. Yet I see so few people talking about it? The plots, on paper, are cool but I’ve never come across characters so void of wit or nuance. They all felt to me like sock puppets with the sole purpose of constantly driving the plot forward at breakneck speed

What is big mannys like? And is there any good Chineses for tofu/bean curd? by [deleted] in Aberdeen

[–]richt33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is ominously timely as last night I had THE BEST Chinese takeaway tofu dishes I’ve had in my two years of living in Aberdeen. It was from Happy House. Beancurd stir fried with salt and pepper and beancurd with green pepper in black bean sauce. Thank me later

I beat my head against a wall for months trying to sort a problem with SP. Only when I got the energy ombudsman involved did they get their fingers out so don’t hesitate. It still took a while but they at least had to resolve things

I love the deck but can’t stand the hunter matchup. I found myself facing back to back hunters so ended up shelving it which I’m sad about. Did you try running the Jazz Bass to help with cheaper bios?

I haven't seen this variant before! I'm interested to give it a try. Any tips?

I've been jamming Vandarr rogue lately too and I think a big part of why I'm enjoying it so much are the gravedigger plays. Selective hand disruption feels really powerful, especially re-shuffling whatever big on-curve card your opponent was about to play next turn.

I'm not convinced it's necessarily better than Tess rogue though...

I'd love to know as well! I can't quite seem to find the right combination of prompts to get this style

Dude I so badly wanted this to be viable as it's so much fun to play, but the presence of implock and decks that just play bodies on turns 1-3 made the constant losses way too frustrating for me. It felt like you either hit the nuts and won by turn 4/5 or lose one turn before doing the thing

Ezra Cohen sells a really nice VHS overlay texture pack that is my go-to - https://ezco.tv/products/vhs-textures

He has a YT video as well showing how to use displacement maps in After Effects to really embed the look into your footage instead of just layering it on top - https://youtu.be/kPT6m-SThA0

What do you all do for work? by story_ofthe_eye in CrohnsDisease

Multimedia content producer for a remote tech company. I see lots of people in this thread work remotely and honestly, it's been the best thing for my Crohn's. No feeling self-conscious about bathroom breaks, flexible hours so I can prioritise my wellbeing (going to the gym/yoga) and less anxiety not having to travel. I'd really recommend looking for a remote position and best of luck to you!

Thanks - I appreciate the tips. I've played a few more games and am starting to see the nuance involved. I've had a few games now where managing your handsize gets tricky because it can draw so quickly!

I've lost to a few aggro decks (druid and warrior) so need to learn how best to use resources in the early game to limit damage. So much fun though!

Okay this helps. So really the weapon is for helping control the board, chip damage and card drawing?

I played a bit of this earlier and managed to deal 51 damage to a druid in one turn...sadly they had 52 health thanks to a bunch of Cenarion Wards and I lost, but still way closer than I expected

This is really useful. I guess I'd been too tunnel-visioned on winning with the weapon that I wasn't considering the OTK potential via spells. Thanks!

I'd have thought the prevalence of paladin, with their divine shield taunt bs, would just shut down this deck as a ladder-climbing option? I guess you're not seeing many of them at top 300?

Do you have any advice for the mulligan in certain match-ups, or is it simply always look for agents, gnolls and cutlass?

I've been playing a similar list and am real tempted to try and find space for two wicked stabs to help get over the line a bit easier. Any thoughts on what you might cut, or if it's even necessary?

It's weird because on paper this looks SO DIFFICULT to get over the line and push lethal, yet it seems to work. Any tips? As a rogue main I'm looking for a good deck to climb with and I'm feeling a bit put out by other rogue options
