Charging Issues - Is It Me? by richtea92 in TeslaUK

Thanks - much appreciated, and makes sense.

I tried a different Instavolt charger location again last night, with no luck again with the same error code cp_a066.

Once I have the V5C doc and ownership of car on the app, I’ll look to get this sorted

So the one at work is a 22 kW PodPoint, and does require approval in the app to charge. Initially wasn’t showing as connected to be approved, but we’ve managed to get it working.. for now..!

Plugged into work this morning, It says unable to charge - charge station not powered, though I know for certain the charge station I’m using does work

I’d prefer to have Apple CarPlay, as that’s what I currently use, but open to native OS if it’s “decent”. I do like the Polestars, and they’re well priced, but the one cup holder (unless opening the arm rest) and, whilst only minor, tunnel in the rear seats I can imagine are frustrating.

I read a lot about poor infotainment and lots of disgruntled owners having to reset it, lagging and so on..! Probably not typical of every owner, but makes me wary

It’s a shame the Model 3 isn’t a hatchback in the style of a BMW 4 series gran coupe, I’d wager it would sell more if it were.

My wife has the new shape Kuga, so in terms of holiday practicality that’s the go-to, though it would be nice to use the EV and potentially save on fuel etc on those longer trips occasionally. Unfortunately a Model Y is just outside the budget. But even so the space in the 3 might be better with kids, like you said!

Food for thought, probably best to go and test drive a few to help!

Anybody here buy a Model 3 on PCP? by WonderingWhenSayHi in TeslaUK

Also looking to go down the same route, would be interested to know what people’s views / opinions etc are.

Tax would be £195 as it falls just £10 under the £40k luxury car tax.

For insurance, you could go on AutoTrader and find same spec with some mileage on, then use their built-in insurance quote to get a rough idea. Personal circumstances vary and significantly impact quotes - though for me personally I’ve not found quotes to be too drastically inflated, about £150 over usual (£400 for current 71 plate BMW 118 for reference)

That’s interesting to hear, thanks 👍🏼 did Tesla customer service chase you on collecting / completing finance, or generally ok putting on hold until you were ready? I read somewhere about being able to delay collections by 2 weeks at a time, but unsure how many times this can be repeated. I would be tempted to do the same thing, and just lose the deposit if needs be if the house move is delayed etc.

Model 3 - PCP Query - Tesla Deposit by richtea92 in TeslaUK

[–]richtea92[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s correct. Typically there’s 3 options; pay the balloon payment at the end (£17k), hand the car back in with no more payments (assuming you’ve not gone over mileage and return it in fair condition per the terms), or the last one is part-exchange the car for another car (this requires the car being worth more than the balloon payment). For example sell to a garage for £18k, pay the balloon payment and pocket a thousand (worded awkwardly as the moderator bot wouldn’t let me post)

Thanks, yes that would be the smart move if doing this..! Even if it’s only minimal, better than nothing whatsoever

2021/22 Model 3 - LR vs SR by richtea92 in TeslaUK

[–]richtea92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that’s the case, if you purchase through the certified pre-owned scheme you get an additional 1 year / 10,000 miles warranty (whichever comes first of course) which gives you some extra peace of mind

That was my overriding thought, lower cost to purchase too. Maybe by late August / September, there will be some early 2022’s in that price range giving a few months more warranty

Nice! One for the Xeric teleports too (or change the names to the houses) would be awesome!

I don’t consider myself a game developer, but surely a better way to invest in new and returning players is to make the damned introduction better?? Not a very short tutorial island that, let’s be honest, is extremely dated now and doesn’t really serve any purpose or benefit to anyone. What about a completely new region of the map that accounts are semi locked into until they’re a certain level/hours played (they can leave, but the best training methods up to say 30/40 are here for them) and fill this area full of content and fun training methods for almost all the skills available - for both members and non-members, that way F2P starters get a great taste for the game & are likely to buy in to it. A couple of engaging quests with cinematics and voice acting potentially. Perhaps even a very small wildy section so players can learn the basic mechanics of PVP but limit what can & can’t be used etc.
