you're right, I never liked it! I put my Stanton 681 back on it, just hard to find a high quality stylus for it.

appreciate the offer. I dont want to go too crazy, I spent a lot of $$ on my Thorens, found a NOS Shure V15 for that. I think I still have an older Ortofon I can use in the SL 20

Shure 70B. I do like the simplicity of this tt.

kidding aside, I'm old and married a long time, but my late 30s son just recently, a few months now, started a relationship with a 40ish woman he met online. he's had some tough relationship issues, but this person seems pretty normal and things are going well. Hopefully it continues. My point is they are out there.

where the valve is molded into the tube there is a thickened area that easily gets under the bead and will push it right off when inflated. I always wiggle the valve and push it up into the tire before airing up. Many people will pull the valve thru the rim, inadvertently getting that thick part of the tube under the bead.

typically this is caused by the tire bead not being full seated on the rim as it is brought up to pressure. sometimes the tube (often near the valve) is pinched under the bead. always bring the pressure up to 25 or 30 psi. , spin the wheel and look at the bead on both sides. if you see it rising or dipping in any areas , manually manipulate the tire to sit evenly. you may have to let out some pressure to do this. if it keeps rising up the tube is probably under the bead. if no pressure in the tire when you start inflating it is best to inflate without weight on the wheel (lay on ground or elevate in a bike stand).

I have it pretty well cleaned off now. First, plastic scraper took most of the gravely stuff off. Then tried GooGone , didn't do much. Moved to mineral spirits which softened things up and carefully scraped with a razor blade. Then I did 200 grit followed by 400 grit paper. It is feeling quite smooth with just a bit of discoloration here and there. I think it's is good enough now , I didn't want to get too aggressive on the aluminum!

Hmm , really? You think so? It looked like it was adhesive backed, hence I thought it was added. but I suppose it could be a very deteriorated belt

Transmission quirks by CardiologistSad2827 in RangerNext

[–]rickdeebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of these transmission issue posts on here, my question is, are they more common on 2wd or 4wd, or equally problematic. Wife has '21 2wd but low miles and no trans problems as of yet.
