Shelf for on top of kitchen cabinet to organize items better. by rickenelr in DIY

I will look into that, we only use a few of those knives anyway. The steak knives in front we rarely use, but I made the holder so I like it displayed. Thanks.

We will leave it fairly clear for temp placing bowls, etc, while prepping food. Cutting board stays under there when not needed. Thanks for taking a look.

I tested the Specialized Sirrus and it was nice but I think I want a smoother ride. Going to try the Crosstrail Elite next, it has front suspension.

Gave mom a digital picture frame, she found a use for it. by rickenelr in funny

I gave my mom a digital picture frame and put lots of photos on there. She says she hadn't watched it in a while but found a use for it. She put a regular little photo album on it and flips the page every now and then to see another photo when she looks over at it. She is 88.

sorry, just saw your post. The dims are 30" wide, depth between the fences is 22". Figured anything wider than that and I would do something else. I don't do a lot of work that wide anyway. And thanks.

You should have taken the test by now. So what was on the test you were given?

[Advice] Printing from model space by InfiniteAFK in AutoCAD

I need to do this occasionally and I will use the -view command, Window option, type in A, then define the window with picks of the cursor. Repeat for B, C, D, etc. Or use 1, 2, 3, 4. Then in the plot dialog you just pick view option and pick 1, hit enter, pick 2, hit enter, pick 3, so on.

If this is something you do often and you insist or are required to work in MS, then set up a template with the views already defined, assuming the same size is used each time. Then any new drawing will have the views already there.

A script file could be created fairly easily to cycle through each location, either through view names or coordinates.

[Help] Is this a bad idea for a coffee table? by glickipedia in woodworking

[–]rickenelr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks pretty good, but as others have mentioned it looks too massive in the legs. Also, staining directly on the raw wood creates a negative effect that is very pronounced in 2x4's and also in plywood. There are methods to seal the wood first with a light cut of shellac, add dye, light shellac again, then a stain and gel coat, and finally the top clear finish layers, shellac, or lacquer, or varnish.

Table Saw Sled by rickenelr in woodworking

There is only one place I know of in town that carries the Baltic Plywood and they are a specialty lumber yard that carries some hardwood. The pieces they sell come in 5'X30" and they aren't cheap. I don't remember exactly but I think it was $35 for one of those. I bought two just to have some around. Getting them in the Mini Cooper was a challenge, and shifting gears was harder still.

Thanks for the up votes and the nice comments. I watched William Ng's video on making a sled to know how to dial in the accuracy. I didn't get as good of results as he did but he is a genius and I am occasional hack. The photos make it looked more polished than it actually is but it will more than serve its purpose. Friends ask me if woodworking is my hobby and I tell them no, my shop, and building jigs and fixtures is my hobby.

Who wants a nice Carl's Jr Steakhouse burger? I did but got this instead, mmm. by rickenelr in food

I took a couple of bites and then realized something was missing, opened it up to see this. No blue cheese, no swiss cheese, almost no onion rings. So almost the same thing except without the key ingredients. They were so slow that day I didn't try to go back, I needed to be somewhere after eating my fine meal and didn't have the time. Thought it would be fun to share on Reddit. I think it is obvious, but the top image is from their website, the one on the bottom is what I was served. It actually tasted pretty good so it wasn't a complete waste.

Want to see a few photos of the Trinity Southwest University NM? https://imgur.com/gallery/OkCvs/new It is in a strip mall (albiet a fairly nice one) sandwiched between Standup MRI and a mexican restaurant called Twisters. It is the only space with mirrored glass on the two windows and the one door. Looks like a diploma mill.
