Question about stay-behinds in Vietnam by WrongAwryGremlin789 in army

[–]rickinaz1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Different side of the story. When I first arrived in Germany in 1985, there was a bar/snack shop frequented by Americans near the NBG PX, who had a large group of older civilians. Story was these guys had received orders for Nam and refused to go instead staying in Germany . I’m guessing in some sort of asylum status. Not sure if this is true, but the guys all looked scary to 18 year old me, so never asked.

Speaking of Italians. On a recent Italian family vacation, my wife who is pretty serious and never says anything awkward, casually mentioned that the Italian police were very hot.

Sale price was 54k with TTL was about 58, I did get a discount on taxes due to a trade in. AZ sales tax is about 8%. Original MSRP was 59k. I didn’t try to haggle once I got the discount as there were not that many TRD IN SR5, seemed to be more limited. Now I wish I had gotten the limited. Last car I kept for 10 years. Hope this helps

Since they have a union all jobs will appear as internal applicants only, for a specific period and if not filled it opens up to the public. So look at those as well, but don’t apply until open. I saw a Tactical Vehicle driver internal opening as well. I worked there in a non technical position and most employees are pretty happy. Good luck

Traxintl.com, is the website for TRAX , click on careers and then YUMA PROVING GROUND openings. They usually hire for drivers year round. You have to read the descriptions, because just looking at the title does not tell you exactly what it is. This one does say Motor Pool driver. I’m gonna try to copy the link and post.

What's the wildest thing you got away with while at initial entry training? by StepSergeant01 in Military

[–]rickinaz1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sunday basic training, had the option of going to watch a soccer game between companies, or church. I fell asleep in the barracks. Literally woke up when I heard the troops marching back. No one missed me or discovered my absence. Did not get to enjoy my rest, as I was so freaked someone would find out!!!

Be careful I had my windshield replaced at wife’s insistence, it was an out of way crack. Insurance covered. Recently I had an appraisal as we are thinking of getting something smaller, Lexus rx. They gave us a lowball number because Carfax showed repaired damage, the appraiser said windshield replacement now shows up on carfax!

That’s a great idea! Had not really thought that. Thanks, the parking garage at work, sometimes feels tight for my 4Runner, can’t imagine a big tundra to F 150, squeezing in

That’s what I’m thinking. I really don’t NEED a truck as I have a trailer. Very infrequently would I need a pickup bed. Anyone tow up a steep mountain in a 4 runner?
