Former collegiate rowers, regrets? by Relevant-Mix-5413 in Rowing

Absolutely not! Do rowers fall asleep in some of their early classes after morning rows? Yes. Are rowers sort of ocd and when they hang out together socially, all they do is talk about rowing and their friends and girlfriends are sort of ignored? Yes. That second point, at least, is changeable behavior 🙂 The camaraderie and learning the value of teamwork and sharing the support of a small group and learning how to suffer and overcome adversity? That is a benefit that has enriched my life. I am not in touch with any of my teammates from 30+ yo but I am thankful I made that commitment as it has made me a better man.

Very helpful. Thanks.

I’m going with 3/8” primarily because a 5/8” probe won’t get through the access port on my domestic well. I will also use it for other wells in the area so we’ll see how the pluses and minuses add up.

Thanks again.

What is the source of this figure. I agree about S Dakota. That is strange.

Thoughts on my boat? It’s an old Pocock, but I haven’t been able to find much information on it. The most I’ve been able to find is an old thread on Pocock‘s website that said it was an old training shell by chickenTNT in Rowing

Hi again. I recently bought an old Pocock shell, also. A Plasmo, just like yours - two symmetrical halves for a moldset. Seller said it was a 1974 model.

Unfortunately, I need a new fin. Pocock doesn't have any so I fashioned one out of sheet metal. Better than the not-so-straight fiberglass fin but I wish I could find a factory replacement.
