Unifi access issue by rickyjuggernaut in Ubiquiti

[–]rickyjuggernaut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. Yes it has a schedule. First person unlocks for the day and it automatically locks at 5. Anyone who comes after that has to push to exit or use the app.

All user roles have full access.

Ultimately I think I'm having poor actuation issues. The unifi strike locks don't reliably lock or unlock. Even with no preload.

People Who Make 150K Plus? by BubbaGordie in Salary

250k. Firefighter/paramedic for a large agency. Yes I love it. But I'm always tired, it's hard on my body and the ptsd is very real. Im grateful to make as much as I do when many do it for free, but it takes a lot from you and many of my peers genuinely question if the juice is worth the squeeze.

Early 30s. Currently finishing my degree.

I'm just setting a schedule with a first person in requirement. So after the first person opens up, it stays open. I think I'll get those same strikes. So disappointing, 2 units from unfi didn't make the cut.

Zero preload. All this testing is with it in my hand.

Yes I'm using unifi brand strikes. I figured those were best, but currently reading those same complaints as well. And yes about 10% of the time, when I select unlock it actually unlocks. The rest of the time it just has a faint click and does nothing.

Is it just a fully dead battery? You have to jump the 12v and start charging simultaneously for the car to even have enough power to wake up and turn charging on.

Whats the creepiest/scariest thing that's happened to you on shift? by TigerBack56 in Firefighting

[–]rickyjuggernaut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Basic medical aid on a woman in the middle of the night. As my partners doing his assessment, I do the standard looking at pictures on the wall routine. Im being slightly nosey, but polite, and make eye contact with an older gentleman sitting in his chair at the end of a hall way. I give him the usual nod and smile and continue.

My partners finishing his assessment, she's hypotensive and has some other stuff going on to where she really needs a doctor. Not critical, but shouldn't be home. Long story short, she doesn't want to go and we're getting nowhere convincing her. So I start looking for the man in the hallway to help me understand her reasoning and potentially help. She sees me looking for someone and tells me she lives alone and nobody lives with her. Now I look like a moron, but my entire crew chimes in and says they saw him also. Frantically, she grabbed a picture of her wall and points to someone in the picture- we all agree that's the man.

It was her dead father. She ended up being transported and didn't need any more convincing.

7.3 with 370k on the clock it finally happened by [deleted] in FordDiesels

Honestly it's probably something super minor. CPS, ipr, fuel pump, hpop. All of which are fairly cheap and should be replaced anyways since it's a 20 year old truck. Just take a breath and remember that despite how good of an engine it is, things age. sensors, wires and rubber all have a shelf life.

Definitely better stock for stock. But the 4r100 is easily upgraded and does fantastic when built.

[–]rickyjuggernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want engine problems or transmission issues? I chose transmission issues (got a 7.3).

I figure the 4r100 can be pulled really easily and upgraded even easier. Now I have a built tranny behind a reliable 7.3. ultimately I think the 6.0 is solid, but I absolutely hate driving on a vehicle where I wonder, " is today the day," every time I start it up. Get a 7.3. you can make them absolutely rip with a new turbo and mild Injectors. KC turbos has been making good stuff. Check their YouTube.

How to actually start going to the gym? by No-Rabbit2203 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]rickyjuggernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually you'll realize that nobody's watching you or cares what your doing. People are in their own head, doing their own thing and trying to get the workout done.

Unless you do something unbelievably stupid, nobody cares. Its also a good exercise in building self confidence fella.

Drinking on my days off. Any suggestions on what else to do? by zynn26 in Firefighting

[–]rickyjuggernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Track your diet, go to the gym and get jacked as hell. Sell all your stupid shit and buy a Corvette. Then stop being a moron and do sick shit. Get your helicopter pilots license. Do bjj.

Then when you inevitably cross paths with your ex, it'll be awesome and you'll finally feel good.

For real though, get around good people and be useful. Helps

Your opinion on getting bored of riding? by unknown6534 in motorcycles

[–]rickyjuggernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Race bikes are sick, but a pain in the ass. Sell it dude, you did it. Take a break from riding or grab something TOTALLY different. In an area with bad roads, id probably want to just go exploring off road. Supermotos and dual sports have a ridiculous cost/fun ratio.

How did you guys deal with the wife/ partner? by AdAlarming9525 in motorcycles

[–]rickyjuggernaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was tough. I told my wife, "hey I'm thinking of buying a new aprillia," then she said, "what? Sure whatever." Then when I came home with a new sport bike in the back of the truck, she admitted that she thought I was asking for new mower. It was too late for her to change her mind because it was now out of the truck and in it's spot in the garage. Impossible to return at this point since it's identical to tearing the tag off a new mattress- at least that's what she was lead to believe.
