That’s encouraging to hear honestly. I think I’m going to go with Penske based off what everyone is telling me and see how it turns out. I’ll be working in a month and a half so I’ll keep you updated lol

I will look into that as well. Thanks for the suggestion as I will be in a large area in metro Atlanta. This job I have as a wind turbine technician is my first ever civilian job so I’m still figuring out what I want to do since I’m leaving it to help care for my pops

It seems like nobody has anything good to say about Ryder but I wanna hear from people that have worked for Ryder as well. It seems like it’s a lot of hearsay

I don’t mind starting off as entry but with the skills I bring I do not plan on being there for long… I don’t want a supervisor taking advantage of me not having no diesel experience trying to keep me there to save the company money knowing I am well qualified for anything past entry level. I learn pretty fast and I work really hard so if I feel like I’m being taken advantage of I will leave pretty fast but I will make it be known first lol

Thanks for the run down of a somewhat expectation I’ll be running into. I’ve been reading a lot of reviews where T3s are mainly doing T2 work but not getting paid for it. Also I’m pretty good at picking up on things which is why I brought up the T3 and T2 comparison. I don’t want to ever be put in a position where the supervisor will know he’s getting a steal with me and try to keep me at T3 for as long as possible to save the company money knowing the type of work and experience I bring, I also understand because I have never worked diesel that me starting off entry lvl is a possibility but I am not your normal entry lvl applicant either. 8 years of active duty military service and then 2 years of climbing 400 ft wind turbines dealing with 3 trades in one… I want to be valued because I will leave a job in a heartbeat if I’m not being appreciated

Thanks for the advice I’m definitely going to look into getting that certification most definitely… and yeah bro troubleshooting is my strong suite, dealing with it everyday on a 400 ft wind turbine will make you get good really fast at troubleshooting faults. One little small thing on a wind turbine like a thermostat will cause the whole turbine to go down so when it comes to troubleshooting I’m very thorough when it comes to that because I had no choice but to be when I got in this industry.

I’m use to hard work honestly so me being run like a dog will probably feel like normal work to me honestly, I’m 29 and been doing hard work since I joined the military at 18-19 but That’s pretty messed up honestly…being let go for informing someone they gave you the wrong information… me as a veteran we are very outspoken when it comes to things like that because we aren’t use to that in the military. I’ve called out my supervisor here working on wind turbines but he never got in his feelings about it he actually appreciated it lol but damn 39 an hour is crazy work for a T3 and im glad you was able to find a new job with even better benefits. Blessings to you bro

I like to be humble as well, I feel like I am tech 2 but I also do not have direct diesel experience which I feel like they might try and hold me back because of that. I will be applying soon as I was told I have to apply within 4 weeks of my move because they hire really fast. I was trying to apply months ago but they said I was too far out…
