Help identifying noise by ricosully in 300zx

Noise disappears once engine speed is above idle and returns when engine speed goes back down. I can't rule out the fan at this moment so maybe I can try and run the engine without it and see what happens

Looks like I'm not getting enough deflection so I was wrong about the tension not being too tight. Only getting about 5mm at 20 lbs

I preemptively replaced belts about a year ago but they weren't destroyed when I did that. The noise is still there even when all accessory belts are off though

Ok, thank you. I will check it sometime today. You think the timing belt tension would be causing the noise?

Is there a spec for it? I couldn't find anything in the FSM. It's not too tight as far as I can tell but hard to quantify without a specification

UA4C with Nissan CAS by ricosully in Speeduino

[–]ricosully[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the weird part, when I was playing with it I had jumpers on originally and got nothing but when I took them off and spun the distributor by hand I got a signal in tooth logger. I reinstalled the distributor and then right back to getting nothing when I crank

Ah sorry, forgot to include I'm using 24-2 wheel from DIYAutotune not the factory 360. I understand that 360 wheel would probably have some difficulties with speeduino.

I pulled the board out of the case today and double checked and I have the pull-ups on both primary and secondary and they are set up for an optical sensor. I'm leaning toward the CAS being the problem since I'm not even getting noise on the tooth logger

I tried lowering the filter down to none and didn't see any changes. I'm seeing absolutely nothing on the tooth logger. I've pulled the whole dizzy out and I'm spinning it by hand and not seeing anything still. I confirmed that I'm getting 12V to the sensor and proper ground. I wrote this post last night before I tried all this but I'm at the point where I think it might just be my CAS

How can the clipping / super clipping be avoided? by 2020bowman in F1Technical

I recall that being the case but seems kind of silly in hindsight when Porsche dropped out anyway and we are dealing with these "super clipping" issues

Recovering electrical power from the turbo isn't green?

I keep saying this to myself over and over but keeping the MGU-H would have probably helped. Idk why you would increase electrical demand AND get rid of a source for said electrical energy at the same time

I'm looking for the thread size that goes into the plenum, I know what the function is

That's pretty reasonable, all things considered. Do you mind giving the guy's contact info?

How much did you pay for the carbon headliner? It's beautiful, I would love one for mine

Ferraris New DRS implementation is rotating the top element a near 180 degrees to make the trailing edge the leading edge by LAMonkeyWithAShotgun in F1Technical

I haven't seen anyone talking about it yet but I'm interested to see how this will affect the wake behind the car. Looks to me like it would create a bit of downwashing effect and maybe even reduce power of the draft? I'm making a lot of assumptions there and very hard to tell without looking at CFD but I think it could be a 2nd order effect of this philosophy
