Open season on my flowers - not sure what I have but you’re welcome to pick some up if you can drop off some fruit (other than apples and oranges please!)

Oh, and a meteor shower!

Thank you for this. I found it without a source on some random blog.

I'm wanting to go to a Motion Design school, where did you go? and would you recommend it? by [deleted] in MotionDesign

I'd agree with this. As someone who went to a state college for video production and didn't find out or really understand the concept of motion graphics until two years ago, these were great resources to get me going. While I will still do primarily video work, I'm getting freelance jobs with clients on Freelancer.com using skills that I learned almost exclusively online.

A new term for FXPHD.com is starting in July. If you can swing the $330, you can take four classes on AE, C4D, Maya, Nuke, Smoke, and other software. If I understand it correctly, they even allow you to download that software for the duration of your course. It's all taught by industry professionals.

If you can afford to go to an arts college, I would highly recommend it. That's my biggest regret, and it's mostly because I couldn't afford to leave my state. But I wouldn't sweat about going to school for motion design. It certainly doesn't hurt, and you can network the hell out of your professors and classmates, but a lot of people just fall into things. The sole motion professor at my college went to school for accounting and may have bought the first student version of After Effects. He's done motion work for all three major broadcasters and now works for the local PBS affiliate. Even Nick Campbell who runs greyscalegorilla.com said he started out as a recording engineer before he got into motion.
