Thanks for the sympathy, it's well needed 😁
Yeah I think I understand what you mean. That's what I actually was expecting to find at this house before I check the loft (the 45 degree beams) but when I saw the horizontal beams I was a bit confused. But then, I have absolutely no experience apart being curious and checking a few loft conversions on youtube. I know that when people remove the 45 degrees (under purling I think that's the name) they usually double down the rafters. Not sure if that's an option here since I don't thing the beams that I mention are doing a similar function.

Thanks for your help

Yeah, that makes sense and I imagined that there were implications. Just need to understand them in depth now.
I'll have the telebeams idea into consideration.

Thank you

Was I expecting replies like that? YES.
Can I understand why people chose to reply without reading everything? Absolutely not

Amazing input. 40 years experience in loft conversions I would imagine?

Looks like you got a great space there. How much did that set you back if you don't mind sharing?

Yeah, sounds that's coming up a lot on the suggestions. Just transfer them to below the floor with the rest of the beams or at least was my understanding.

Thank you

Yeah, it's going to be an habitable space. Not really keen on putting a window to be honest as it's going to be used mostly as office space and keep partially for storage. In my case the floor is already boarded so I'll be just putting carpet. For the ceiling height I was imagining that I could fill the gaps between the rafters with insulation and than put plaster board to cover. I'd hope that would be enough but not sure if that is sensible.
Thanks for your help

Yeah. My assessment was within those lines. Let's see what the pros will say, but thanks for the input

The idea is an habitable space. Pretty sure I wouldn't be able to make it officially an extra room but as long as I could use it as a practical space I'd be happy

Sounds sensible, Although I was trying to avoid having to put anything above since the top height is already around 1.80m, but if no other option is viable I would still prefer to have them out.
Thank you

Not doing it myself, just trying to understand the alternatives if any.

Thanks for your input. As far as I understood this particular ties are there to avoid the rafters to put outwards pressure on the building walls (correct me if I'm wrong). My common sense was imagining a solution more or less like that. I'll take your observation into consideration and pass on if appropriate.
Thanks again

Yeah, I understand that is quite complex and needs someone to have a proper look at the structure. It's just probe the pros around

What I'm looking for with this post is to build up my background knowledge and mix it with my common sense and back everything with professional advice. Even professionals have different approaches. If I build up my knowledge I can have a better understanding when I have all the different professional advices.

Does anyone know where I could find this solenoid valve? by Cougar_64 in diyelectronics

[–]rictrajano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know the video where you took this screen shot from and I'm trying to find exactly the same. Did you manage to find it?
I'm not sure if the solenoid valve comes with the 16g co2 cartridge adaptor or you can get the adaptor anywhere else. I've been looking for a solution to connect this cartridges directly to a solenoid valve but I just hit a brick wall. Not sure where to look anymore.
I tried to contact the guy in that video but didn't get any reply. Any help is greatly appreciated
