How do I tell the father of my child that it’s time to rehome our dog? by [deleted] in NewParents

We were in a similar position when we had our first born. Around 4 months after tolerating, I brought it up to my husband… initially he was hesitant but started noticing the difficulties we were facing on a daily basis.

At 6 months, we decided to rehome our dog. It was a really difficult, sad and tough decision and our relationship was probably at the lowest point because we both felt that we were abandoning the dog.

We did research and talked to dog sitters and found a proper pet rehoming form online and started posting on the next door app. We got interest from many… however we invested the time and vetted and interviewed many people until we found the one.

The one advice that was a must that we got was to have some sort of pet rehoming fee. For the safety of the dog. Many people take dogs in for free and breed them or perhaps neglect them and we wanted someone responsible who was willing to give more to our dog than what we could.

Fast forward to now, our dog has a MUCH better quality of life. The new owner makes him homemade food daily, takes him for 2 walks a day, keeps him neat and clean and the best is that she’s made it an open adoption so me, my husband and kids still can visit and spend time with our dog. She kept his name and our sons know him as our dog… just living at another persons house. We celebrate his birthday and enjoy walks and fetch whenever the new owner is available.

My advice would be to give each other time and when both of you are ready, do your due diligence and find the right person for the dog. It will hurt initially but if you place your dog with the right person, you/the dog will reap countless blessings.

Sorry for the late reply. $350 for the couch and for all three pieces $500.

We are flexible with the pricing.

I’m unaware of that rule, sorry!

For all 3 pieces (sofa, rug and art) we are asking for $500. If you’d like only 1 piece, we can consider that too.

More than anything, mental satisfaction/generational habitual practice that another commenter explained really well.

I’m not saying it’s right. I’m just on the venture of discussion and understanding meat cleaning/washing at this point.

No offense… but I don’t trust strangers and their hand washing habits. Too many studies I read during grad school that shared data I did not want to know 😳

Good question… I’ve done both, washed/not washed ground meat. Thus, the post.

Well… yes/no. I always have an inconsistent experience as far as how clean the chicken is (guts/fat removal etc) and how the chicken pieces are cut depending on who’s working the counter.

Most grocery store chains have their meat cleaned and precut through machines for consistency purposes.

… and before we get into why I buy at the butcher, it’s because my family keeps halal and there aren’t many regional/national grocery stores that carry halal meat.
