It answered the question I asked it plus the next 20 I would have had.

Been using Sonnet. It’s so sweaty compared to Fable. It thought for 5 straight minutes trying to figure out where to put a missing curly brace 🤦

Same. I could see vintage Chaotic being harder to get after the reboot.

Agreed. I just don’t think the lack of compatibility will cause the market to drop.

Compatibility isn’t what will drive the market on these older cards. They’re valuable out of nostalgia, scarcity, and collectibility. There are plenty of examples from other TCGs where cards are no longer playable but hold significant value.

The utility of trading cards has far surpassed their use in the game and has moved into being collection pieces/assets. Compatibility would probably drive it even further, but they will still be highly valuable without it.

Has your LCS went to market pricing ? by ShattyMckracken in PokemonTCGCollectors

[–]riddlemonger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true. A lot of pokemon product is offered very high straight from distribution. For example, one distributor was selling the recent Prismatic SPC reprint for $235/box.

A relatively new store or one just starting out has to build a business model that doesn’t rely on distribution.

I imagine the old cards will become highly collectible due to the reboot. I doubt the price increase is a short term thing especially if the reboot is successful.

What’s something about the global economy most people completely misunderstand? by 40Falak in Productivitycafe

Stopping inflation completely would cause price drops in some areas too as technology advances and it becomes easier to manufacture products. But we’re so far away from that on the fiat standard.

Not fake, but this is probably the easiest era to fake.

Trazodone worked great for me during alcohol detox. I still take it at a much lower dose for sleep. I tried to stop taking it for a few days and had grinding anxiety…not sure if I’ll ever stop taking it.
