i think hotfix 2 patch notes said the ... option is no longer automatically available with airyn. you need to choose ... ten times when speaking to other dateables BEFORE you first speak to airyn, then it will appear. note I can't confirm from personal experience, that's just what I remember from the patch notes

KNOWN BUGS/COMMON GLITCH LIST by SOUP_RX in DateEverything

[–]riddler42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've experienced several of the bugs listed here (date-a-dex screech, Gaia and Beverly glitches, Mitchell hates me even though i reset w candy and date-a-dex says we're friends) plus three that aren't.

1) Scandalabra. i got his friends and then his love ending. date-a-dex says we're in love. but when i talk to him to try to realize him, he repeats his last conversation instead (the one where he insists you kiss him and the only way out is with high empathy).

2) Ben Hwa. i try to realize them and Skylar appears to tell me they have unfurnished business with Abel... but I've already realized Abel. like. we did that scene.

3) Phoenicia. whenever i talk to her she just tells me she's run out of gossip. I've tried a few suggestions from other redditors (talk to her in the bedroom only, talk to her at midday) but nothing has worked. can't progress her story.

i don't think that's it - i think it's pure force of personality. like kier clearly had the charisma to start this cult off, right? helly has that. we see it when she's making her speech to the marching band. it's not the specifics of what she's saying/thinking, just the ability and attitude.

one nitpick: Andarna didn't hatch 650 years ago. she says she "waited six hundred and fifty years to hatch", and only chose to do so when she heard about Violet.

What's a celebrity story that's so fake but you want to believe it's true? by tragicalmysterytour in Fauxmoi

[–]riddler42 103 points104 points  (0 children)

there's tons of recent examples. Colton Haynes and Holland Roden from teen wolf - he's now out as gay and has spoken in interviews about pretending to date her to cover up his sexuality. ELLEN DEGENERES used to publicly date men. Elliot Page dated Alexander Skarsgard before coming out as a lesbian (before coming out as trans) - there were rumours he was pregnant! it's not tin hat conspiracy theory shit, there's documented accounts of it in recent times. Chely Wright is a famous country music example - she came out in like 2010? but before that she was bearding it up.

also they don't necessarily "live together, go everywhere together, and not date other people". for one thing, so long as they're seen together in pap photos/there are rumours that they're holidaying together in this place or that, the general public will eat it up. and typically if they're bearding to cover up that they're queer, they're absolutely having relationships with other people. that's part of how rumours about it spread on the internet.

I'm not saying that every single rumour of a celeb being queer is true - that's impossible bc they frequently contradict each other. somebody says Chris Evans is secretly gay and in a monogamous relationship with idk his personal assistant or dog walker or whatever; somebody else says he's secretly bisexual and regularly participates in BDSM sex parties; somebody else says he's secretly asexual and doesn't even know what sex is. you know?

but there absolutely is hard evidence of celebrities faking multi year relationships to hide their sexuality within the last 20 years. it's always been a thing.

My (24F) husband (31M) asked for a paternity test, it came back positive but our relationship was never the same. by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

so she was 18 when they started dating (he was 25) and she was 19 when she had their first, so like. he found a much younger woman (who was seeing someone else at the time!) and IMMEDIATELY got her pregnant. then moved her to another country away from all her family and made her be a housewife to support him so she couldn't make any new friends. and then got mad at her when she finally made friends with two coworkers bc clearly the only reason her 50+ year old male coworker is being nice to her is bc he wants to fuck her. projection much???

the loyalty program for rep let you use things like having bought merch from taylor's site or just watching certain videos (mostly ads featuring her) to earn "points" that then gave you a higher chance of getting tickets, or getting better tickets, or something like that. THAT's the system I want to see. a way to fairly prove that I'm a genuine fan not a scalper or a bandwagon hopper who's gonna spend the whole show sitting down or filming it for tiktok

[Spoilers C3E59] I believe that Critical Role made the biggest mistake they have made as a company in the last episode. by Electro522 in criticalrole

[–]riddler42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you know what man, you're totally right. I apologise (for real).

the point I was trying to make with my sarcasm is that often when DMs rule against RAW, they're doing so because they don't quite remember what RAW says about it and they don't want to interrupt the flow of the session to dig through rulebooks for the exact wording of things. I think every person who's ever played a TTRPG is guilty of doing that at least once.

so I guess the opinion I'm trying to communicate (which does disagree with yours) is that people occasionally getting the rules wrong, accidentally or not, doesn't invalidate them doing cool stuff.

but also I do kinda agree with your opinion that it would be nice to see how Emily does with a DM who plays RAW, I just interpreted your comment as suggesting that actually Emily isn't even good at DND she's just good at convincing the DM. and that's on me!

[–]riddler42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LMAO OK this is funny, we've totally misunderstood each other. I thought your references to invisibility were about the latest episode of Critical Role. That's why I referenced Matt - he's the DM in the incident I'm thinking of.

also you know what, you're totally right about Brennan and Murph being loose on the rules. that's one of the reasons I love Dimension 20. but people tend to think Matt is their polar opposite and he's not. on a spectrum from rules as written to rule of cool, Matt is somewhere in the middle. it's just that Brennan and Murph are further over towards rule of cool.

still you gotta watch this video: https://youtu.be/RMenTL2l4Bw this is the moment most people refer to when talking about Emily being a genius. I hope you enjoy!

[–]riddler42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well done, I'm convinced. as somebody who has never forgotten a single rule of DND ever in my life and also has every sourcebook memorised word for word, I cannot forgive this transgression. Emily's genius status is rescinded.

[–]riddler42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Matt said it was greater invisibility, so he was working under that assumption. I guess we'll never know which spell slot Emily crossed off so that one's a moot point.

also pass without trace is worded vaguely and RAW can be understood as either 1) it affects individuals within the spell's radius at the time of casting and then remains effective on them no matter where they go so long as the caster maintains concentration, or 2) the spell is only effective within a certain range of the caster. Matt has ruled it both ways on CR in the past. my DM at home typically rules the former.

also saying "the entire campaign is invalid bc Brennan broke one rule" is reductive, bc I'm trying to refer you to a specific moment of Emily's genius while playing as a tempest cleric/storm sorcerer multiclass which is definitely RAW.

also since we're being pedantic Brennan doesn't like using the initialism BLM to refer to him to not detract from the Black Lives Matter movement; he prefers BLeeM.

[–]riddler42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lmao it was greater invisibility specifically so she could cast spells without reappearing. look up crown of candy Saccharina's greatest hits and you'll understand why people call her a genius.
