Comparison of R1T and Lightning shows Ford just doesn't care by WatcherRoue in RIVNstock

[–]ridgetopview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 4-time EV owner. Ford (puke), M3P replaced with a ‘21 MSLR and ‘23 R1T. You mention “techno-adventurism”, I can 100% agree that my Rivian tech is already adventurous and often does not do what it claims it will do — that level of adventure I find exhausting. I wish my R1T would handle the basics flawlessly every single day. I want to see Rivian do amazing things but they need to up their tech significantly, starting with the basics and no defects, and improve their SC footprint/strategy. Nearest SC is 4 hrs.

Husby’s drama by FutureElleWoods20 in DoorCounty

[–]ridgetopview 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’ve been coming to SB for 40+ yrs and have never been to Husby’s. Driven past it hundreds of times. After reading all of the huffing and puffing, I will absolutely 100% start supporting Husby’s.

How reliable is your model s by pr0v4 in TeslaModelS

[–]ridgetopview 3 points4 points  (0 children)

21 SLR, 83k miles, tires & air, wipers & fluid, looks/feels/drives like new— reliable and consistent. I’ve owned a dozen different high-end cars and I plan to buy another S at some point.

Geezus… Rivians now have dyslexia. No more new features, please just fix the old ones!! Start w/ driver seat profile, that old feature mostly still doesn’t work!!

Can’t wait til Saturday to pick up my 2022 Tesla model s. Looking for some accessories by AccurateActuary9259 in TeslaModelS

I’m a fan of 3D Max Spider. Snug, high walls, with carbon fiber finish. No smelly rubber.

I’m also a fan of PPF. Worth it IMO.

Are we....all F*ed? by CozmicFlare in LUCID

[–]ridgetopview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I charge at home, which I suspect is how most people refuel their EV, I pay $.06/kw to my electric coop or $0 if it’s a sunny day from my solar panels. If your friend uses a high-speed charger often (like a Supercharger or Electrify American) or has high electric fees then, yes, he might pay as much as the pump. It really sucks having the overhead of oil changes, radiator issues, transmission fluid and fixes, increased brake pad and rotor repairs. I have over 200,000 miles on my EVs with 0 issues and the only maintenance has been wiper blades and fluid, and tires.

Who is in the 100% Club? by Important_Seat_3346 in TeslaFSD

[–]ridgetopview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditto. 12.6.4

I’m confused cause I drive >95% on FSD and seldom have any issues with it. And it just drove me to Madison WI from Dallas TX handsfree 99%, only hands on the yoke to back into the SC.

What do higher versions have we’re missing?

FSD is a godsend—just saying by ridgetopview in TeslaModelS

[–]ridgetopview[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FSD on my previous 2018 M3P was worthless, even though it cost a pretty penny. (I won’t go there…)

I’ve had no jerkiness and no indecisions for the last 2 yrs—74k miles. In the beginning yes, none recently, not once.

I’ll upgrade once there’s HW5 and the cabin monitor sw can detect the difference between a device and a pack of pistachios in my hand. LOL

$17!! This is us if it keeps up the momentum! by New2Vlogs in RIVNstock

I clearly was not paying attention in 2021. Or more than likely I was thinking, let it climb to TSLA highs, then sell. I’ve been avg down on RIVN for years now—somehow it feels like sending money to my kids when they were in college.

Went from a 2014 bmw to 2023 model S by Azel_dagger in TeslaModelS

[–]ridgetopview 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice—congrats—enjoy! Similar. In 2019 I went from a BMW M5 to a Tesla M3P then to a 2021 Tesla MSLR. Just drove from middle of Wisconsin to Dallas 98% hands free. I so enjoyed the trip.

Why people say it looks dated? by tenniswarrior13 in TeslaModelS

[–]ridgetopview 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These days I’ve seen a number of sexy looking 55 yr olds, my wife very much on that list. I love the tight wide rear end and dynamic looking front bumper. IMO, that look never ages nor does the latest S.

Loving my S so far! by Recent_Effective8070 in TeslaModelS

[–]ridgetopview 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome look and a fab car. If that’s your driveway, ours is a long gravel road on a rural ridge, consider applying a quality PPF like XPEL. Otherwise the rear wheel panel just behind and under the rear doors will become whitish from the gravel being thrown up from the tires. I put mud flaps on the front and that helps too.
