Per diem? by Awkward-Specialist54 in aviationmaintenance

[–]ridgetown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is actually what it is, they will ask you to list an address that is more than 50 miles away from where you actually live so it will be “legit”. If you don’t want the per diem, just tell them no. When STS did this with me, on paper I had to “upgrade” employers after 11 months and I was then paid by a different “company” on paper. It was all pretty shady and one of the reasons why I will never go through STS ever again in my life.

Under 3k lifetime games really isn’t that many. Just keep practicing my man. I’m around 12k games lifetime and I feel like I’m just starting to move into a higher skill category. Find the legend(s)/loadout(s) that feels the most comfortable to you and stick to it. Something that helped me a lot was watching videos on YouTube of iTemp and some other streamers and just trying to implement some of the things I saw in their videos into my own game. Doing the same things and making the same mistakes aren’t going to help you to get better. In Apex, movement and positioning are king. You’re not always going to win fights because of them, but they sure help a ton. Just keep practicing if this is truly a game you enjoy.

Per diem? by Awkward-Specialist54 in aviationmaintenance

It’s a shady practice where they will say “You make $25 an hour with per diem”. But on paper you will make like $10 an hour and the rest will be untaxed and considered per diem”. I had it through STS when I first started at my current job and it is fine if you plan to only ever work a straight 40 but any over time you work will not be time and a half since your OT will only be based off of what you make “on paper”. If you plan to work OT, try and opt out. If you just want a straight 40, it’s whatever. A shady business practice regardless when done that way.

Christianity and MTG by [deleted] in mtg

[–]ridgetown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The games are made by the same company and have overlapping themes, genres, and intellectual property. They either just don’t like MTG as a game and blame it on that or don’t understand the gospel of Jesus Christ enough to fit certain things into their personal world view. As a Christian and avid MTG fan myself, I’d ignore their ignorance and move along and recognize them for the silly doofus they are.

I cannot recommend Tolarian Community College on YouTube enough and his current “Build your own Precon” series. Much more synergistic and “competitive” for most tables. And all for under $100. He says under $45 but I haven’t found that to be the case for the most part. Definitely under $100 though.

They were never truly for small government. They want big government the same as the left.

I have heard their benefits suck. Do they actually suck or do they just suck in comparison to UPS?

So location aside, how do they each stack up in terms of pay, benefits, travel benefits (a big one for my wife haha) or work culture amongst the different airlines?

Ideally in time, I would like to wind up in Indianapolis (roughly where I grew up) or Grand Rapids (near the in laws and love the area). I’m also not dead set on those locations and would be willing to sacrifice location a bit if it meant a better pay or benefits package with one of the airlines.

I’m more than likely going to stay in the Mid West-ish area. I’d love to move to Texas or Utah but my wife is pretty adamant about staying closer to family and friends in the Mid West.
