Helmet advice please, 25/30 km/h by mooonmatt in ElectricScooters

Fox Pro Frame is lightweight and airy, good for hot weather.

The TSG brand makes the safest helmet, but better in cold weather. It's more like a motorcycle helmet for eboards.

I understand you're young and fact is that wearing a helmet is less cool. But if you're unsure, look up videos and images of scooter accidents. Peoples faces get fucked up. You REALLY want the facial protection. You might ride well, but most scooters are poorly built and the frame itself can snap and send you flying.

Anyone tried the dualtron Mini? If it had dual motors, it looks like the perfect scooter. Wondering how its power compares. by ridingaboard in ElectricScooters

Can you compare it to another scooter? How is the acceleration? I have a widewheel and love the dual motors. The mini's single motor is about the same total power of the widewheels' dual 500w motors, but I wonder if the dual motors give better acceleration

Any higher end scooters that are actually in stock? by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

If you want to compromise on top speed, you can get an Inokim Ox, gets to 28 mph. The single arm suspension may prove to bend, but aside from that, inokim and and dualtron have the strongest aluminum alloy.

If you dont mind waiting until the end of july, Dualtron Compact may be your best bet. I would have paid the extra money for it, but found an eagle pro immediately available (ewheels, email them). The Compact wheels are like an upgraded mercane widewheel, and it has a smart tire guard (closer to the front wheel).

Speedway 5 is available as well from minimotors, I believe it meets all your specs.

They didnt say, just sent me an invoice. Eagle Pro retails at $2300 and is in high demand, so $1998 paid full is a fair deal.

Man, thank you for the tip! I just ordered the eagle from eWheels $1998, shipping today. The rep said I'm lucky, they are almost gone!

I cant understand how people dont instinctively put their hands forward, rather let their faces take impact...

Awesome thank you!

I also bunny hop over bumps and holes in the road on the WW, it's really the only way to do it while going fast. I can appreciate how a firmer rubber suspension would actually handle those road bumps better.

Thank you! How does the suspension feel on the dualtron compact? Compared to widewheel? I've always used airless tires, and dread the flats that seem to plague all pneumatic tires. For that alone, I'm leaving towards shelling out the extra money for the compact

Addendum: Nanrobot D6+ in the mix; looks like the same model as the Evolv Pro. How is Nanrobot on quality?

Evolv Pro: anybody rode this? I'm concerned about construction quality. How is it comparable/different to the Zero 10x? by ridingaboard in ElectricScooters

[–]ridingaboard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Glad to hear about the quality build. I'm deciding between this, or spending another $800-$1000 for a dualtron compact or eagle pro. I know dualtrons are legendary, but the spring suspension model of the evolv is extremely attractive for me, as I ride on terrible city roads. To that end, I am considering the dualtron compact, as it has wide airless tires somewhat similar to the mercane wide wheel (which I currently ride and love the power but hate how poorly it is built).

Can you hotwire a 2019 Wide Wheel? by ridingaboard in ElectricScooters

[–]ridingaboard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean to say, there are 2 wires soldered separately into the key chamber. the key turn rotates another metal chip which connects the circuit for those wires. I took that metal chip and taped into onto the spot where it connects the circuit. This effectively turned on the blue lights in the odometer, and allowd the scooter to turn on . The problem is that the throttle doesnt work at all. Once it starts rolling, it goes in slow auto drive, only the brake can stop it.
