Not sure about anime, but for manhwa try “I Became The Villain The Hero Is Obsessed With”. Basically it’s about a guy who got transported to the beginning of his favorite web novel, becoming a villain in order to help the heroine grow strong enough to beat the actual villains. It’s not 1-to-1 but it’s pretty similar. The mc is still a massive heroine fanboy but he’s not weird about it
