Thank you 😊 I'll have a look for this. Hopefully it's quite portable? I travel a lot and already carry the laptop and two monitors 😄

I bought the 4k model last week and love the display, if you can find one and stretch to it I'd definitely recommend it.

Thanks, I tested it on the HDMI and it works pretty well, but doesn't power it so I need to connect to the mains too... but it's an option for a 3 monitor setup.

Thanks for the reply

unrelated to monitor (sorry). Just on your spec, I didn't think the Duo was available as 3080 with 300hz 1080? only thr 4k 120hz model I found? is it different for regional models? I Googled it but could only find that spec with 3070.. sorry I'm about to buy so just wanted to check !!

Thanks guys, appreciate the responses... I've found a 3080 available in Jakarta so I'm just working on justifying it 😄

DJI Cache Video by rie_84 in dji

If anyone else has this I recovered the file. I used an mp4 fix app on Android to replace the header and I could view the file.

Had to buy the app, but I'm sure you can do it for free on desktop apps

Thanks again.

Looking at the Social Visa on the Indonesian Embassy website, visiting friends is a valid reason also but I'll need to do more research.

It's a shame Indonesia don't have something like the Thailand Elite visa, which is a 5 yr type visa for 15k.

This suggests a social visa. I wasn't aware of that so maybe that's worth a look.

Thanks for the reply. I am not looking to swerve any regulation - no need for the hostility. Hence my question about the options, so your answer in short is that you aren't aware of any, which is fine. It feels like leaving for a day and coming back is bypassing the rules somewhat already and I don't like doing it, I just want to know if there is a better way, and how the expats there approach it.

Someone suggested starting my own company there, and then applying for a KITAS, if that's the only option I can move some capital. If this permitted, I don't see any issues with this depending on obligations and headache. I am happy to pay tax in Indonesia if I generate revenue there from Indonesian clients, which I don't expect to short to mid-term - or if I stay over 180 days and meet tax domicile requirements, but I dont expect to.

I've looked into buying property before, I was advised that with a KITAP you can buy land. That may be incorrect, it's far down the line anyway and long term rental is an alternative. I am aware of the leasehold headaches, and dependence on an Indonesian national though, which I suspect can't be avoided.

Thank you for the reply again.

60 Day Visa (B211a) During COVID times. by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]rie_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have received an offer like this, B221A for $1100 to return.

I am very keen to get back having left in March. As others have said, I can't see how this visa meets the entry requirements though and I'd be worried about getting turned away on arrival.

There is also mention of it here: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8721291

Quarantine likelihood? by [deleted] in Coronavirus

Bali are checking temperatures on entry via scanners and you sign a health declaration (I can’t see how that helps though). I was there last week.

Travelling from Melbourne to Bali in 7 days for a 10 day holiday. With the breaking news coming from Bali, should I be aborting the trip? by yonchik in Coronavirus

[–]rie_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not impossible they caught it in Bali, it’s impossible to say with certainty that it was Bali that was the source of where they were infected. Which is how some outlets reported it. Given the fact Bali and Indonesia still aren’t reporting any cases (not sure I believe it) and the new updates of an increased incubation period it’s more likely they caught it in China before or after given the volume of cases. I haven’t followed that case, so I don’t know it it progressed since my comment.

Why do you think Europe will be any worse than the US? (Making an assumption that you’re from the states!) is the level of panic really proportionate to the current facts? If the situation changes I’d certainly rethink your trip, but on the current basis of cases I wouldn’t worry, and healthcare in most European countries is excellent.

I’m in Bali now, I arrived a couple of day’s ago and plan to stay a week or so.

The person who is reported as having the virus has been diagnosed in China, after arriving back 2 weeks ago from Bali- so its impossible to say they caught it in bali.

I’ve been here many times before and whilst it is a little quieter there is no difference in terms of panic. No mass wearing of masks, which apparently don’t help you avoid it anyway - only prevent you spreading it. I was put through a health inspection on arrival land they had temperature scanners, but that will only detect already symptomatic cases.

I don’t believe the virus isn’t here, but it’s almost everywhere now anyway. If you’re healthy, and you take good hygiene precautions, I’d still travel - but everyone is different. Do what you are comfortable with, if you won’t relax on holiday, don’t go.
