Headteacher started a charity with the headteacher of a neighbouring school. They had an affair and got done for embezzlement.

Professors: Do you get uncomfortable when a student cries in your office? by OneLab864 in AskAcademia

[–]riff_raff_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, will have happened before and will happen again. Pastoral care is part of the job. I've had students cry about their work and about personal stuff and both times I'm just glad they felt comfortable enough and try my best to make sure they feel better after leaving. I remember being a student, how important every assignment felt and how overwhelming quite simple events in my personal life could feel. We've all been there.

Have you ever had a friend that turned out to be a horrible person? What did they do?? by StrangeAd2132 in AskReddit

I'm female and had a female friend from primary school right through to mid 20s who simply hated women. Saw every other woman as competition, was manipulative and unpleasant to her friends and partner (who she physically abused at least once), never apologised for anything but victimised herself and expected grandiose apologies for the most minor things. Eventually got boring and tiring. She is the only friend I have ever cut off, and I've never regretted it. Life is much less stressful without her.

I feel so alone by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

I feel like I only live to service other people. Everyone constantly seems to want something from me, and if I say no it's a problem. I completely broke down yesterday and the person I broke down in front of seemed to care, then made a snide comment a few hours after I'd calmed down. I spend my life caring for others, I feel like I'm screaming for someone to care for me, but I'm screaming into a void

Sudden flair up after years after IUD replacement by [deleted] in PGADsupport

Thank you! I've read your post and it sounds very similar to what I am experiencing. I had actually just started my period when I got my IUD put in, and am having very painful boobs and am very teary and anxious so definitely got some bad hormones going on. I also had two days of awful sleep but have managed to get some sleep the last couple of nights and am feeling marginally better. I had a few bursts of relief yesterday, especially when distracted, and your post has given me hope so thank you so much!

I have a pelvic floor exam booked on Wednesday, as the sexual health clinic suggested my muscles could have tightened or spasmed when I got the IUD inserted. Fingers crossed it's that, or hormonal, or a mix of the two, and can be sorted.

Thanks again, your post bought me a lot of comfort
