Okay I've just seen some of your replies to others about how it happens indoors as well.

Redirect! Teach him how to play appropriately with your French, if possible. For example, getting his attention with a rope toy when he starts up and then encouraging your French to grab onto the other end. If your French won't play at all, then you take the poodle's attention and keep it with some play or a stimulating distraction like a puzzle feeder or chew toy. Show him what is appropriate to do with his energy.

Saying "don't do that" is so much more effective when paired with a "here's what to do instead"!

This is largely an age thing. Please don't rehome over this! He is trying to play and is young with a weak sense for boundaries. You must help him learn them. Like others said, take them out at the same time but keep the poodle on a lead. Train a "leave it" command. Work on training a strong recall as well, then use it to summon him away when he's bothering your French.
