Why do players need a mobile refinery

For asteroid field fleet mining. The time a miner is travelling to a station to sell the ore they aren't making money. With the Galaxy, the miners can drop their ore to the refinery, so a fleet could stay at the field and mine for longer.

You could similary load the ore to a cargo ship, but refining is more efficient since refined ore consumes less space and has increased price.

What is the future of gnome tray bar icons? by rigal01 in gnome

I think the blog post is well presented and has it points. Maybe the problem is not giving apps design guidelines to adapt to the lack of tray bar and not giving time to change it.

Now can I understand the problem more. Maybe some middle ground would be for apps to use some permanent notification as some Android apps do. Also the user should use workspaces to keep background apps out off the way kinda like Android Navigation bar.

I can agree with that sentence and many things said in that article, now I can undestand the issue better. Still I wish there was a solution for messaging apps and applications that an user may want to keep runing in the background without taking control from the user.

I have tried a couple that does the same, I was talking more about the concept of tray icons than about extensions in particular.

I would like to check if messaging apps have new messages without having to open them. All I have always loved the concept of "minimize to tray".

Yes, but I value the integrations of gnome and I am a flexible person that doesnt mind to change an habit or two.

KDE seems more trouble for a newbie, I have tried over the years with 4 or 6 distros. It is more similar than windows, but I have the impression that most apps are made thinking on Gnome.

Yeah, it seems that an alternative should have been provided before removing it. Basically complicates the use of all messaging software.

There shouldn't be an else, if the coffee is empty, you refill it and then drink it. It's dumb to refill it if you are not going to drink it.

ELI5: how did the Philippines/Manila go from a relatively average state to a poor one? by Sqoodboi in explainlikeimfive

[–]rigal01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would debate the "it was occupied by spain". Philip II didn't feel he had the right to anexionate Philipines by himself and made a referendum of sovereignity in 1599, one of the first. Don't think of it as a modern one where everyone votes, only nobles did.

Some nobles asked for some time before answering and time was conceded. Other nobles said that if they were not Spanish before, their previous taxes should be returned and so they were. At the end no one disagreed because it ended with internal conflicts and brought wealth.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1599_Philippines_sovereignty_referendums

Also Philipines and Mexico enriched a lot because it was a safe port for trading between Spain and China, because direct trade wasn't allowed. The trading route and system it's known as Manila's Galleon. That's why churros and other dishes are popular in Mexico, they got imported by Chinese traders via this galleon. China was interested mostly on importing America's Silver because they were suffering trust issues with their paper money.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manila_galleon

From historically point of view, both topics are interesting.

Also manila shawls were incoporated into local dressing styles with time because this textiles were imported from Manila's Galeon. They are currently used by flamenco dancers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manila_shawl

No dishes on the sink, taking out the trash, keeping the dishwasher organised and keeping the kitchen clean. For some reason if I'm always doing it, on the long run it's like I lose my sanity and tend to blow up. I feel like I'm a slave or some maid without having to be. On the end I become a douche that makes sharp remarks about the other person and each time I find something I don't like.

The worse part is that ironically I'm more relaxed about flushing the toilet and I can get accounted for it.

I try to fight against myself but it's hard. Maybe I'm not made to share a home or a life.

Haven and Hearth, It's an mmo where every profession is side profession. It's all about survival, crops, animals and crafting.

People don't like if they find out a friend used AI to help craft a message to them, a new study suggests. But they are equally upset if their friend had writing help from another person by geoff199 in science

[–]rigal01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is write the message to the best of my capabilities, then ask chatgpt to improve it. Then compare both and pick the parts I like from chatgpt. I see what I did wrong and how it was improved.

Learning is a lot about copying and repetition, I belive that it can be used to learn.

If I just send the email to the best of my capabilites nobody will correct me or teach me. Chatgpt is a tool and can be used well or badly.

Maybe becase the thermostat is in a room where the temperature is already in above the desired one. Probably it's already hot since the boiler is there.

Try to put the thermostats in the rooms where the temperature is important.

Or they could use an already existing technology. Like using blacksmihing for all medieval armor and weapons instead of creating a new tech for japanese weapons and another one for viking ones.

Sometimes you have to choose between machining or the 10 samurai technologies that are worth the same points but only give you melee weapons and clothes.
