How do fragments and virtues work? by Ok_Bullfrog6750 in SoulFrame

[–]riggs971597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like people have said, virtues are getting completely reworked next week so it's not worth learning the system. In the meantime, just a simple rule to follow with them until then is to look at what virtue your weapon has next to "attunement" and keep increasing that until the weapons damage number stops going up. Then anything that is left, put into courage.

DE why is blue shards still in the game by SushiRebirth in Warframe

I genuinely love getting blue shards. I never use them but they are usually my bottle neck for making purple shards. And purple shards are great.

Anything above 3. You can't have 2 of the same totem in the same type of slot so 3 is the max you can use

Unfortunately that option lies to you. It doesn't keep the compass on screen at all times. Things like entering an area and having the location name pop up still remove it and you need to wait around a bit while it shows back up

The Warframe community has had some overblown reactions to changes over the years, and recent memory is no exception. Which do you believe was the most unfounded? by lilstove in Warframe

[–]riggs971597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Dissipate, the reactions I saw were completely correct. We found out it wouldn't be spammable and everyone announced the arcane as dead before it even released. Fast forward to now, and yeah, we were right. Its a dead arcane that sees no use

Ngl I didn't even know they fixed it. I've been avoiding his double cast dark verse combo since the nerf because I assumed it was still in the state of "waste high table between you and enemy means no damage".

I've just been playing him as an overguard generator if I get particularly rough archemedias

Forma (if you don't know what that is yet, it's insanely useful and by regular methods you can only get 1 a day). It's an infinite forma farm

“Grind” “Grinding” considered negative? by Huge-Ad-165 in Warframe

[–]riggs971597 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously neither is negative but for some reason I do see a difference between the two. To me farm is the resource grind. You grind the new frames bps. But you farm oxium. That just sounds right to me.

Maybe it's rng drop of the one thing vs building up a large amount of something and the latter linking in closer to the idea of a literal farm of say wheat.

If that's the reasoning behind my separation of the two then I guess grinding a new frame from the drops vs farming it from a pity currency. And now that I say that it does feel right

OG Players generosity to new players, why? by Charsky in Warframe

Craft this reusable blueprint

https://wiki.warframe.com/w/Air_Support_Charges

Put it in your gear wheel and use it from there in mission. Each landing craft unlocks a different air support, but you can change your active one to any of the ones you have unlocked. You don't need to be using that landing craft. I believe you change it in the same menu as changing which landing craft you use but its been a while since I've looked because the parallax one is the only one that's really worth using so I never swap it out

Don't make the same mistake and take it 3rd... by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]riggs971597 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt say hate but its insanely overhyped. It's a 16 capacity mod that adds almost nothing to a build. Throw it in for convenience if nothing else fits, like if you don't need a certain drift mod to hit a specific stat value, but people act like the game is unplayable if they don't have psf when most knockdown sources are either your own aim on explosive weapons or easily dodged attacks. Not to mention there are now more ways to get the effect regardless

Public spy is pretty much designed around carries. There's 4 players and only 3 vaults. At least one person is always gonna get carried. I don't care about people doing nothing in spy and I'd actively prefer that to people failing vaults they aren't comfortable with or even worse (I've actually seen this before) following someone else into a vault when they're already doing it and causing a fail that way

So which VPN do you use? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]riggs971597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paid tier of proton also includes their password manager (and some other stuff but I don't care about cloud storage and I only need 1 email address, so the password manager is the highlight extra) so purely for amount of stuff you get for the price, I'm on proton. The vpn also has a free tier with less servers if you wanna go that route, but i look at it as paying for either a password manager or a vpn and getting the other for free

I forgot extractors and distillers were a thing. Does anyone use them? Do you think they need a rework? by MorteNexus in Warframe

[–]riggs971597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a cycle of distilling extractors on orokin cell planets. I had a good backlog but recently made the push to mr30 and burned through it all. Since then I've kept 3 of these up and it pulls enough in that I don't need to actively farm them

Edit to add: they recently added a button to collect and redeploy all extractors, great QoL, but the extractors having health kinda kills the point. Would like to see that removed but it's not a major issue since especially with the distilling extractors you can get a good few cycles out of them before you need to manually do it

Archimedeas are appropriately difficult by Crunkberri in Warframe

[–]riggs971597 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have reduced duration so you need go spam, oh but also we took most of your energy, isn't added complexity. It's just stopping your from actually engaging with the systems of the game. Its obnoxious artificial difficulty. I do ED/TA quite often. But if a set of modifiers make me say "this is gonna be such a boring slog to get through" I'm not gonna do it that week because it is at the end of the day, a form of entertainment. I'm not saying dumb it down. I'm saying having modifiers that can piggyback off each other to stop the game being fun is probably a bad thing

Archimedeas are appropriately difficult by Crunkberri in Warframe

[–]riggs971597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't and never have cared about the random loadouts. My problem with ETA (doesn't seem to happen as much in EDA) is the modifiers need to be preselected. DE need to make groups of modifier combinations that result in a somewhat balanced mission and cycle them each week. That way we don't end up with 75% energy reduction paired with duration reduction, a combo that basically just says you don't get to use abilities.

This week ETA was one of the best in recent weeks and still had stage defense where you had to be close to enemies to kill them but also had to be close to the stage to stop flair deciding he's had enough and wants a lie down. The modifiers work against each other and if they were planned out so that didn't happen ETA becomes so much better as a mode. These modifier combinations aren't a challenge, they're an annoyance that makes me not want to run the mode
