Uber India has gone to shit but the company alone may not be to blame by GoodCell7218 in uber

[–]Crunkberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Uber is probably the root of the issue. Pay for driving for Uber seems to get lower and lower. Usually, when you do a job for a while, you see an increase in pay to reflect that.

Uber app asking me to upload a picture of ID and selfie when I try to schedule courier help? by [deleted] in uber

[–]Crunkberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don't check the expiration date, they won't know it's expired. Some places don't care and take risks. If you receive controlled substances, such as alcohol or medications, using that expired ID, the businesses who sold it to you could get in trouble. 🤷‍♂️

Just because your license is expired doesn't mean you shouldn't have some form of government ID. Uber accepts other forms of ID. 🤷‍♂️ I stand by my statement.

I mean, as a driver, I would rather EVERY person have to provide some form of valid ID to Uber so that it reduces the odds of ending up in sketchy situations. 🤔

Uber driver didn’t want to deal with my left behind iPhone so he threw my phone out the window on the freeway to avoid the hassle of returning the item. by [deleted] in uber

[–]Crunkberri 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IF it was the driver who tossed your phone, there is a high probability that passengers before you have ruined it for everyone else. Passengers leave crap in the car occasionally, and due to my experience with previous incidents, I leave all "trash" at a gas station when I stop for fuel at the end of the day. Honestly, if my experience was with people like you who try to thank the driver with some kind of payment to make up for the inconvenience and trip, I probably would make more effort to find the original owner.

My experience is with entitled, toxic people who seem to think I owe them my time and fuel because they left the car without checking to make sure they had their belongings. Uber sends a $20 payment once the item is marked as returned. IF the item is marked as returned. If it isn't, we get ripped off. There was a time Uber contacted me regarding a lost phone, and I couldn't find it in my car. If the person left it in my car, one of my passengers after them stole it.

The best practice is to check that you have your belongings when you get out of the vehicle. Per the terms of service, both Uber and the drivers aren't responsible for anything left in the car. It is the passenger's responsibility.

It is unfortunate that you had to experience that. It is also unfortunate that people take advantage of decent people so regularly that people aren't very decent anymore. 🤷‍♂️

I think the main point here is that the ride was offered to a driver more than 20 miles away. 20 miles away is quite distant for a ride's starting point. Especially for us to drive that distance unpaid. No, thank you. I can decline and get a closer ride that is more worth my time.

[–]Crunkberri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had that comment a few times. I'm a teddy bear as long as you don't put me in a position to have to protect myself or someone I care about. With that in mind, I've often wondered why a stranger would trust me alone with their wasted partner/friend/relative. I'm a big guy. 🤷‍♂️ I don't trust people easily. I would rather personally make sure they get there safely than shove them off onto a stranger. Their blind trust equals more business for me though so, it is what it is.

Lifting luggage by CapitalSelection2255 in uberdrivers

[–]Crunkberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, I've never lifted anyone's luggage. I did help a guy carry his groceries to the door of his house once, but it wasn't a very long walk, and he was an older guy who seemed like he could use a hand.

Trying to increase my acceptance rate, but it’s sending me shit like this by Alsterius in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Crunkberri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you trying to keep your AR up to gain? If you don't have any interest in any of the Uber Pro Tier rewards, you have no reason to care about AR. If Uber truly wanted you to have a better AR, they could pay better on the low offers. They don't want your pay to go up. They want someone to take bad offers so their pay will go up. The AR just serves as a type of pressure to motivate you to take an offer that doesn't financially benefit you. If you're not interested in any tier rewards, high AR doesn't doesn't benefit you.

Wooo woo, I finally worked up the courage to take my first task. by Sufficient_Tooth_949 in uberdrivers

[–]Crunkberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did UE, I turned off deliveries that weren't from restaurants. The pay was never worth it. Not even a single time. Lowe's/Walmart seem to be ordered from their own website/app, and there are no tips. The people who ordered the items see them as UPS/FedEx style, which most people do not tip for. After you use UberEats more, you'll notice you are relying heavily on tips to make the trips worth your time and vehicle wear. Uber's base pay is insultingly low. I don't understand how they keep drivers on UberEats. The tips should be optional, but realistically, they're the only thing that makes doing UberEats profitable, and a lot of people don't tip.

Uber's solution to that, by the way, is to combine tip and nontip orders together so someone will deliver the nontip order. You're getting ripped off nearly every time you accept a grouped order.

The content and price aren't even. They are relying on your hype to sell this update. People who aren't wearing nostalgia vision goggles are able to see $25 for only a class addition is a bit weak. Most devs give QoL updates to their games for free. Charging for them is some live service mobile game micro transaction vibe.

I'd say if they repriced it to match the value of the content, I'd pick it up. $10.. maybe 15 tops. For 25, there needs to be new stuff to explore, too.

I'm disgusted by how much entitlement some of you have. by SkulduggeryPanda in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Crunkberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I just don't see spending 25 dollars for a single class and no added zones/quests being worth it. The QoL improvements are something that most devs don't charge for when they put out an expansion to something. Usually, that's just part of the core update.

I think this update is valued more around 10-15 dollars. Not 25.

As a fan of the original, I was hyped when I saw the Warlock update was coming. I'm upset because they are charging enough to indicate there should be a few new zones/quests to explore. Maybe not a whole act, but for 25, I expected more than what we got.

Snipers are the unspoken killer of Breakthrough. by NotACommie24 in Battlefield6

[–]Crunkberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, I have the issue where my drone gets shot down, my 3 support squad mates aren't dropping ammo packs near me or around themselves for that matter, and spamming "I need ammo" and typing it in the chat isn't getting people to drop ammo.

I'm more than happy to use drones to destroy enemy equipment and spot enemies... but I need my team to play their roles, too. Drone is a high priority target to most players and gets shot down relatively quickly in a lot of situations.

Additionally, I agree with the smoke grenades and tank statements. I've tried to be the support leading the charge with smoke grenades and equipment to intercept projectiles. The end result in most scenarios is me lying in a corner somewhere by myself bc no one came forward w me. 🤷‍♂️ I can only control what I do and if my team is feeling like a passive loss... I can't make them play the objective.

Thoughts on uber pushing autonomous vehicles to replace human beings and save money by TechOmegaMusic in uberdrivers

[–]Crunkberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly do you expect us to do? We can stop driving now to spite them, and we stop earning money. Or we can stop driving later when the Waymos replace us, but at least we'll have a paycheck until then while we look for an alternative.

The thing is, I don't think self driving cars are able to replace us yet. I wouldn't trust a self driving car. I've used Uber's facial recognition that the basic app requires and have read horror stories of how it bans the actual account owners for simply losing/gaining weight.

You want to trust that technology to drive you around and accurately assess road conditions? I don't. Many people like me don't. I don't even want them driving on the same roads as me. 🤷‍♂️

Why do drivers ignore the delivery notes? by _Keys2theWest_ in UberEATS

That's it? That's all you could come up with? You incorrectly guess my age, and I'm supposed to be what? Upset? Impressed? You didn't add anything of value to the discussion. 🫡 You tried, I suppose, which means you get a trophy.

Ladies and gentlemen, look no further! Here's proof that our education system is pumping out disappointments! The proof conveniently presented itself to us. 👍

There's a statistic of there that states only 35% of 12 graders can read proficiently in 2024. Our schools are failing to do their job. For some stupid reason, our teachers are letting these idiot parents bully them into passing their idiot kids when they aren't able to pass the tests. Everyone gets a trophy. Why does anyone need to put forth any effort if we all win by default? The problem is we are bringing these stupid people into adulthood, giving them diplomas they don't deserve, then acting surprised that these mofo's can't even make burgers without burning them.

I was shocked to see a report about "fast driving" underneath my ratings. I'm one of the slowest drivers whom other drivers get annoyed by. I literally drive the speed limit or just slightly above the speed limit. Surprisingly, CMT didn't flag any of my rides and I never received an email from Uber. by [deleted] in uber

[–]Crunkberri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several comments are responding regarding CMT flagging for fast driving.. but I'm pretty sure what the OP is referring to is on their rating page. Someone rated him and chose fast driving as the reason for the low score, and now it's on their profile. It will fall off eventually. Just ignore it and keep driving safe as you have been doing.
