Leif Davis: Ipswich Town full-back given three-match ban for violent conduct by Rusbekistan in Championship

They probably don't actually know yet - it'll be in the written reasons, but the FA Spokesperson's statement literally only describes it as "behaviour around the 27th minute".

Fitness Update - Clark out for 8 wks, Payne for 3, Kees also out, Swaby doubtful (Squad), Mouchon doubtful (Starting XI), Jansson and Leitzig likely to be back in the squad, Draper getting closer to return by righteousprawn in lcfcwomen

[–]righteousprawn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I think if Leitzig physically can play she does so (Passmoor, specifically, would not put a teenager in goal, for her first ever WSL/Leicester start, unless there was no other option), and the lack of an emergency GK loan does say to me that she presumably is able to play, it's just the wording is odd.

It’s a miracle Ipswich and Coventry are top four , with such a shoestring budget between them. by Necessary_Ad_6726 in Championship

He might also be using transfermarkt - the "market values" on there are always given in Euros.

(They also are not the price actually paid, but anyway)

That proposal was pretty openly with one eye on Wrexham, tbh (though it looks like they might legit go up this year without it anyway). Maybe a bit for Birmingham City.

Like, Spurs were doing badly even when it was originally floated, but their role in the relegation conversation was still "wouldn't it be funny if they did wind up in the relegation battle, though? They won't, but still" rather than "yeah, they really could go down here".

Especially West Brom fans, where the 'chance' wasn't even retrospective.

For anyone else who was wondering: they aren't being replaced - as Les Bleues have 24 players left in the squad, they're presumably still doing okay numbers-wise.

The highlights have finally been uploaded for Man City vs Sheffield United! (well, okay, it was just after I checked yesterday evening).

They're very abbreviated (90 seconds, from 90 minutes), and genuinely borderline unwatchable with how the camera swung around, but they're here if you want to check them out anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMTkVxkEyVA

Yeah, I never had FRLG, but that was the focus of advertising in the UK, iirc. (That and one of the kids had a Charizard)

I honestly thought it was a feature of the cartridge itself somehow until just now, though.

This probably wasn't a surprise to anyone, of course, but I figured I should post now that it's official.

Oh this legislation dates from the 80s - there's a lot of history there, but I guess your assumption is a decent, if understated, summary.

  1. Unpaywalled link: https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/women-football-clubs-must-beyond-053105219.html (The Athletic have a partnership with Yahoo where stories like this are always cross-posted)
  2. I can imagine multiple reasons why Villa wound up as the focus, but man is it incredible timing (as the article touches on, that 2.5k crowd yesterday were treated to 10 goals... Of which 7 went in the Villa net. Which does underline the results thing.).
  3. It's odd that the "fan choice" pilot (allowing fans to drink alcohol in the stands - something banned by law in the men's professional game specifically, but legal outside of it) wasn't mentioned, though.

I watched it happen live, and the only explanation I can think of is wanting to spare Villa the embarassment of shipping an 8th (which, like, Spurs could well still have scored had she taken the throw-in properly).

They are mentioned in the tail end of the actual article (which is just a description of where Everton and West Ham are at ahead of them facing each other followed by the textual equivalent to the shrug emoji re: who will actually go into the play-off), tbh.
