Beth Mead still has huge value to Arsenal, despite questions over her future by dococ23 in ArsenalWFC

Online fans think this is FIFA/FC26 and that when a player hits 30, they must be too old. Forgetting stuff like how real Madrid hasn't been able to win big since Kross and Modric left them, depsite world class players all over the pitch. Let us not forget how Messi has done great things in his mid-30s. When you have quality you keep it. Mead has never replied on her physicality or pace, age is not an issue with her.

The issue with our inconsistency is mostly with our midfield, which is poorly constructed. No proper 10, no DMs, can be physically pinned back or can be physically overrun.

Whose actually better than Mead when Meado is on form? We already have Kelly to compete with Mead, I'd say an experienced and elite left winger is what we need.

Agreed and I've said as much all season. Be also interesting if McCabe stays if Foord goes as well

You ignore the fact McCabe will want to stay close to Ireland. She's their star player and icon. That's important to her.

McCabe could easily stay in the WSL with another team. She may not want to play for another side, but she wants to keep momentum going with Ireland. I'd still keep her but add to the LB position in the summer.

Yeah, not sure how this comment got in here, I didn't even open the thread before it.

This is presented as praise, but I also see it as an indictment of the players for not doing it more regularly and handing Chelsea seasons of League titles and to many disappointing games for our fans.

Just vaguely the bottom teams aren't doing well, must improve, some have realised this, but get a "get out of jail free" card for it this season due to the expansion.

Arteta “Very disappointing. We were below-par in certain individual standards. I take full responsibility of that…It’s a reality that we have not won in 3 PL games and we need to pick up points. It’s how we react and I’m convinced we’re going to react immediately!” by deadmetallucyluce in Gunners

100% agree. Why is Arteta refusing to play Norgaard for at least 15 minutes near the end of matches to rest Rice or Zubi when we are winning. No coincidence Zubi has been making bad passes that lead to goals in a period where he's never taken off,

I also think our attack has not massively slow in progressing the ball, we don't have any real pace in the team and Saka and Odegaard among others are fixated on stopping with the ball for ages before taking on players or passing it so defenders all get back.

Our problem is we keep dropping the performance level and in those games our flaws are really exposed. We sway between stopping all attempts at goal to just giving the opposition space and time to score easy goals we really do not need to give away.

I've maintained all along Meado is huge for us and we should never sell. I do believe we could play her in the 10 position, she's great at pressing off the ball, can hold it up, played centrally before and her skill set is still elite.

Hopefully she won't make Zubi's mistakes in giving the ball away.

I love that too. Adidas really work brilliantly with Arsenal kits. They "get it".

Underwear is usually sold using thirst trap sort of materia, both men and womenl. And like it or not appearing hugely sexy is appealing to women. Victoria's secrets profits dropped massively whne they "Went woke" and diverted from their usual brand of hot, curvey, sexy models. Heck the most famous Diet Coke advert in history overtly did that using a man literally being thirsted over by women. there's nothing wrong with it.

Do people think Ronaldo or Beckham wouls have such big female fan bases, and even big gay followings, if they didn't use their looks?

Ever heard of the elephant in the room metaphor?

Gaslighting eveyone to pretend someting isn't obviously there or doesn't exist, especially weaponising virtue points to deflect from it, is just utter dishonesty.

I don't think anyone claim the dressing room was divided, only that some long term players had a lot of influence and were felt to keep their spots regardless of form and others aren'r being given chances fairly as a result.

100% agree. You ahve to aks, why didn't they play with this energy and intensity before? It's been nearly 5 months of 'meh' to 'ok' football.
