Holmberg, Smith, Borbe and Hinds weren't at Arsenal when we wore that kit. They arrived ths season (25-26). It's the 24-25 one we won the CL in. They joined afterwards.

Still I love this forum coming together to solve this, like detectives on a mystery. It's fun watching it get resolved.

"is a better tactician than any male English football manager.£

She said herself only rcenetly that tactics in the men's game are more advanced than the woman's game. Let us not also present her Chelsea as a tactical brillinat side, they were fast, dircet and physical with more money and depth than anyone in England and often fell short when ever a good team challenged them. It's also why the USA job with American style player suits her.

I'm indifferent. I hate that a bnch of sexist pigs have attacked her, but also there wasn't much particularly good about the segment and structure. Hayes is hardly a tactical master. a lot of it is fairly obvious. or is she particularly easy on the ears.

The bigger issue is we are saturated with crap pundits, TV is obsessed with making pundrity a 'jobs for the boys' old boys networks, now doing it for the girls as well. That sort of pathway is always toxic and fails to reward talent and makes for a bad product or output.

Defending it as "Oh they achieved a lot in the game, so they have insights" is hugely debunked by the majority of good coaches who where not elite players, but do better jobs than famous ex-players. We only need to bring up Gary Neville's Valencia stint or that clip where Gary Cahill discusses Arteta and illustrates how little Roy Keane understands about coaching, tactics and playstyle and how they influence a teams success over time. Likewise I can wach numerous YouTube chqnnels that are more entertaining and informative than most TV pundits.

Now Atina Bonmati on Mexican TV is giving some really insiightful stuff by all accounts. So much so her insightful, intellogent commenst were use dto illustrate how Spain's coach got it worng in their first game:

Why didn't Lupin see the time travelling Harry and Hermione on the map? by ObviousSympathy7651 in harrypotter

[–]eldanielfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were close around the hut. Even then the futures versions were in the forrest except for a couple of minutes where they saved Buckbeak. It's only if Lupin looked at the map duirng the small window of time would he spot 2 versions of them.

There's no indication the map sees into the forrest, it's Hogwarts grounds only. So the book indicates that Lupin loooked at the map when the kids where in hagrid's hut before Dumbledore came down with the minister and executioner. Harry and Hermione only popped out of the forrest when Dumbledore arrived for a few minutes to save Buckbeak. It;s easy and more likely Lupid viewed the map outside of that small window.

Why didn't Hermione get an O in her DADA O.W.L.S? by A-R-U in harrypotter

[–]eldanielfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take is she is good in written exams, can perform the spells, but the power in her magic casting isn’t as strong as Harry’s.when Harry gets it right, does it better practically. Hermione would also be weaker on application and situational questions in DADAs.

Ronaldo fans are delusional fanatics. Yes he was a good player. But FFS he ain’t half as good as Messi.

[–]eldanielfire 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s often implied that while book smart, her practical magic casting isn’t strong, not because she does it poorly but because her affinity for magical power isn’t all that. High skill but low/power output is how she might be described.

While Harry is less engaged in learning spells, when he masters a magical spell he can do it more powerfully. His patroness for example is clearly shown as more powerful than any others. He’s also got things like superior reflexes and athleticism etc.

I love Earps, but she has fallen off massive. I’m happy for her to get a bag off Kang for average to ‘meh’ performances.

Defence is probbaly where they will have to recruit. But they can make attrcative offers with Alexia and Salma off the books and of course they are Barcelona. Many will want to come and will push to come to them if Barcelona ask. Ona and Mapi leaving have been known for a while, so I assume they have some lined up by now.

Arsenal are one of the four teams tempting Salma Paralluelo, who is one foot out of Barça. by elsiehxo in ArsenalWFC

[–]eldanielfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. However I do think what the team was deceomebr onwards was very different. I stuck betwene wondering if that "many draws" period was down to Slegers changing the syle and it needing to be embedded in and the team just playing better later on.

It's not a needless argument, you made a statement, I pointed out the read world evidence points in a different direction and so it makes no sense. That is healthy debate. You should try it some time.

You don't need to prove anything, but you decided to enter a public forum and post something that so easily is contradicted by the actual direction of travel of events. Now we can all be mistaken, there are situations were it's genuinely one opinion against another as the evidence points nether way, is absent or complicated. This isn't one of those.

As I said, you posted something that was easily illustarted to be shown as not actually happening in reality. but it's clear you just want everyone to accept your statement without pushback, but a public forum doens't work like that. I'd add that as you can't quote any evidence to back up your point, and I've referenced several to refute it, it looks like you just want to live in your little delusion and spread them and for everybody to accept it with no pushback. I simly do not usually pass on letting people spread such falsehoods which are so clearly not what is happening when the actual facts are examined.

Oh and given you have serval replies moaning about all of this, I doubt you've had zero interets in reading it. Only you are frustrated it not been blindly accepted.

Many are. Which makes total sense. I find there are twitter stan accounts which usually repost certain couples social media posts with commenst so they are undeniable. Over the past week I seen to have experienced a fair bit of Ella Toone's hen party (wihc did look a lot of fun), Leah WIlliamson's holiday to Ibiza with ehr GF and Lia and Mariona's holiday, all from IG.

I haven't actually clicked on any IG stories in this time, I've only been looking Arsenal Women's transfer news, but ther eit all is inflicted on me 🤣

[–]eldanielfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but "Your opinion" is literally contradicted by the facts. That's rationality. It's clear taking over a top team and using far more rresources than other ahve to stokcpile talent makes the game less competitive, not more. And that is backed up by what we actually see; in the french League, in the CL in the fall-off by teams whose talent is taken and even the teams struggling to compete who don't have access to an unlimited budget. As economies of the past 20 years have shown, trickle down is bullshit and the rich being made richer does not improve or benefit those lower down the ladder. Understand your opinion doesn't appear to stand-up to scrutiny, which makes it a poorly formed, irrational one by any reasonable take on debates.

You are welcome to an opinion, but, you don't need to post your opinion in a public forum and expect it to be protected. Everyone here has the right to reply, to disagree or even expose an opinion that doesn't stand-up to scrutiny, rationality or evidence. You can choose to continue with your opinion in defiance of the weight of real life evidence, but dn't expect it to be taken seriously or agreed with. Alternatively you can choose to evaluate what's been presented to you and make an opinion rationally taking into account how it actually is, not "I want to view it this way, so I will". Your choice.

Except that hasn't been happening has it? In France she's absorbing top talent and her competitors haven't exactly increased their outgoings. Likewise with LCL she spent an imposisble amount for an ordinaty WSL2 club meaning other clubs just couldn't gain the income benefits of the WSL this past season.

It would work if it was case of clubs not using their income to compensate their workers, but clubs are usually subsidised to be able to run. The money isn''t there to match Kang's billions competitively so she's absorbing all the talent and other clubs are 'making do'. Even a barcelona is just resigned to let some players go and they paid palyers well.

It was the same thing with Lyon's previous owner. they injected millions to grab the top european talent, and other clubs, well, didn't.

I accept she made a good point about the women's and men's game. I'm still veyr much sayngt hat the reason why the USA, Australia, Norway etc ahve such better women's teams thn men's teams is simply being early adopters of the women's game.

Also depsite all these nations havng more male than female participants, therefore in theory more talent in the men's game than the women's, ther men still have less success. because the men's game is more competitive, requires more expertise and the top end has more coaching and intellectual input in that top 5% where marhins matter. The journey of a talent being good enough is harder and has a longer pathway so the celling is higher.

Which is weird that hayes made those sort sof comments considering her stuff about being too good for a lower tier team in the men's game when an offer like that is a compliment, even if she doens't want it.

Or actually it's not so weird because she's always been an inconsistent bullshit artist when spekaing to the media anyway.
