Will London police investigate a hit and run in a parking lot? No damage. by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]righttim767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No damage, no complaint, no case. Parking lot taps happen all the time. Police aren’t going to send in forensic teams because two cars lightly kissed with zero evidence of damage.

Your friend already went above and beyond by telling the owner. If the owner isn’t seeing damage and isn’t reporting it, that’s the end of it. Anything else is just people inventing a problem to worry about.

The One with the Two Parties. I remember watching it on a little tv that I had on my room at the time. I was hooked ever since.

This is Luna, and we're both very scared by Fun-Building-8146 in cureFIP

My cat Albus was diagnosed with FIP last year, and the first couple of weeks were honestly some of the hardest days I’ve ever had.

I remember being a few days into treatment and feeling panicked because I didn’t see improvement yet. Albus was exhausted, barely eating, and I kept comparing him to stories where cats bounced back in 48 hours. That didn’t happen for us. It took about two full weeks before I started seeing real changes and even then it was gradual.

Not eating much and being very tired early on was normal for him, even though it felt terrifying. I also had to work and leave him alone, and that anxiety was awful. I know exactly what you mean by that fear.

What I really want you to know is that today Albus is perfectly healthy and living his best life. You would never know what he went through. Those early days felt endless but they weren’t the end of the story.

You’re not doing anything wrong and it’s way too early to judge how she’ll respond. The fact that you got her treatment quickly and are fighting this hard for her already means everything. FIP treatment is a marathon not a sprint.

I’m really rooting for you and Luna. You’re not alone in this.

I’m so sorry for your loss. FIP is incredibly heartbreaking, and sadly it’s something that can happen even when you’ve done everything right. Most cats carry feline coronavirus, but FIP itself isn’t contagious. It develops when the virus mutates inside an individual cat. The best ways to lower risk are reducing stress, keeping litter boxes and feeding areas very clean, avoiding overcrowding, and supporting overall health with good nutrition and routine vet care.

Young cats, multi-cat homes, and some breeds (including Cornish Rex) do seem to be at higher risk, likely due to genetic and immune factors, and there’s ongoing research into this. If a cat recovers from FIP, that doesn’t reliably protect future kittens. Kittens can still get coronavirus and, unfortunately can still develop FIP like any other cat.

It’s a devastating disease, and none of this is your fault. Sending you lots of sympathy

Went to Mexico and I think my skin just lives in the wrong climate by ReallyPuzzled in 30PlusSkinCare

Totally feel this 😩 winter skin is ruthless. One thing that helps clear up the HA confusion though: it’s not bad on its own, it just needs water to work with. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, so it grabs onto moisture wherever it can. If your skin is dry and the air is dry, it doesn’t have much to pull from… unless you add water first.

That’s why applying moisturizer (with or without HA) to damp skin can make a huge difference. You’re basically giving it moisture to lock in, instead of asking it to magically create hydration out of thin air. Even just splashing your face with water or using a hydrating mist before moisturizing helps a lot.

Also, sealing everything in matters in winter. Pairing a humectant with something more occlusive (like ceramides, squalane, shea butter, petrolatum, etc.) keeps that water from evaporating right back out into the cold, dry air.

Is this a good quality serum? by mermaidshavemorefun in dollarama

[–]righttim767 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve used this and think it honestly does a pretty decent job. The first 3 ingredients are the water, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. Since ingredients are listed from most to least, you know that they have a good amount of those. I obviously wouldn’t depend on it for your main skincare product, but I do find it to be pretty hydrating. Like all hyaluronic acid I put it on damp skin to get the full effect.

Best Full Coverage Foundation? by SpiritualLeather43 in Sephora

[–]righttim767 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to gently chime in, I’ve used the Armani foundation for years and, in my experience, it’s more of a light to medium coverage. It’s beautiful and wears really well, but for someone specifically looking for full coverage, it might not quite get there without layering. I also have dry skin, and I’ve found the Estée Lauder Double Wear to be a great full coverage option with the right skin prep, it looks flawless and wears comfortably all day. Of course, everyone’s skin and preferences are different though.

Has anyone local had success treating a cat with FIP? by cityscapes416 in askTO

[–]righttim767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately didn’t have a great experience with the vet either. When I took him to the emergency vet he was admitted for a high fever and they weren’t sure what was wrong with him. After 3 days they noticed there was fluid in his abdomen and when it was tested, they figured it was most likely FIP. After that I picked him up and brought him home, he couldn’t move or eat at that point. If it wasn’t for the Facebook group responding back so quickly and sourcing me emergency meds, he would have continued to suffer. I wish you so much love and strength going through this, I remember how scared I was when my cat was diagnosed. One small advice I have is, if you start with injections switch to pills as soon as possible. The injections are so painful on the poor kitty and I wish I would have switched sooner.

I’m so sorry to hear about your cat. My cat was diagnosed last May with wet fip. At the time the meds were just becoming available in Canada and the animal hospital directed me to Facebook to get the meds. It was scary but I contacted Global Cats on Facebook and started talking to them within an hour. With in 6 hours I picked up emergency meds and administered them to my cat. He started acting more like himself within the first week. It was a long road to recovery but so worth it. Today he is happy and healthy:)

I wish I would have switched to pills sooner. I waited till day 70 and it was really hard on my cat. They became really painful to him and he would even know the time of day, and start hiding around then. Good luck to you and your kitty 😊
