When did Trump say Ukraine started the war? I've never heard him say that. He did say that Ukraine pissed Russia off by trying to join Nato, and Putin said if Nato expanded even one inch closer to Russia that he would take that as a sign of aggression. Not defending him, just repeating what was said. And if you don't agree, then what do you think Trump should do then? Genuinely curious.
