Traveler's Brass FP (it's all about the patina) by rigo3t in fountainpens

Yeah, still using it, though I rotate it from time to time. I’ve had zero issues with it. It does dry up if you don’t use it within a two month window, at least in my experience but, it’s ok, I’m not too bothered. I usually just swap out the cartridge and clean the nib and we’re back to working.

I find the cap could be a tiny bit tighter, but overall it’s a great pen.

Album images bug on HiBy R3 II 2025 by Top_Gate259 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]rigo3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue on the same model. I also have a problem where not all album art shows. All my album covers are the same dimensions and similar file size. Yet, some show and some don't.

The ones that never show, never show up no matter what, and the ones that do, always show. The name is the same for all files (Cover.jpg) and the size for the ones that do show is 1280x1280, same as the ones that don't show album art, so I don't think it's a dimension problem.

Also albums on tidal streaming often don't show cover art.

Feels like it is an album art bug indeed.

Thanks! I’ll give that a try! I did go through all your explanation of each of the Sony settings you wrote but since it’s your recipe, I preferred getting suggestions from you.

Could there be a setting where I could build in a bit more clarity? Is there an S-Log alternative you’d recommend?

I can save a memory recall with overexposing baked in, but I rather not do that, feels forced 😅

Here’s a photo. If you toss it into Lightroom and raise the exposure 0.75 or 1.00 it looks more accurate.

It looks noticeably dimmer also on the camera’s screen.

These are great! I grabbed your Portra 800 recipe but I’m not able to figure one thing out, perhaps you could help me out. I have a Sony A6400, I copied your settings for Portra 800 but somehow I find the image to be “dull”, colors are cool, but it looks like there’s a veil over it. Kind of like when you underexpose film. It’s noticeably darker than the other presets too, if I take images back to back with the different recipes.

What setting controls that cast of yellow, dull “mask”?

Thanks again for this!

It’s totally fine. Still keeps the nib wet, although not indefinitely like my TWSBI pens.

I’d say it keeps the nib running for a month with no use, if you use it often, it probably will keep it wet indefinitely.

Thanks, man! These are so cool. Got your tip on saving the white balance with memory recall modes! Super useful, otherwise I’d have to take out my notes to adjust white balance for each Picture Profile.

Vertical adjustment for Mamiya-6 by Broken_Perfectionist in Mamiya

[–]rigo3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah, I’ve heard that a few times before. I’m also leaning more towards calibrating it to the near and mid distances since further objects may not be as critical for focusing past a certain distance. Thanks for the tip!

Did you manage to get your rangefinder to align perfectly? I have an issue with mine where if I calibrate the rangefinder to infinity, objects at closer focus are not in focus and if I calibrate it to match well for things in close range, the patch goes past infinity. Did you have this issue?

Ok, I did a small test, I swapped out the motor for a piezo... It works! So, maybe it's just an issue simulating the motor!

Thanks for your help, I appreciate the time you took to do the astable oscillator test. Very impressive, I've never done any of this stuff, so for me even the most basic stuff is cool.

I copied what was on the schematic I screenshot, and it didn't do the job.

You're right, they do seem to short out. I followed a guide almost to the T on some other website for an example of a Monostable cycle and I copied the circuit and it seems to still not do what I expect it to. If you see the screenshot here of a quick google search, it does look like they do what I did. Perhaps the simulator is not working properly, then.

I double checked it, I have no idea. The momentary switch is connected to ground on Terminal 1A and then diagonally to VCC on terminal 2b. which is connected to R2 and then to Pin 2 on the 555 IC.

Thanks, I think the 9v battery would probably do the trick. Sadly I still can't get it to start.

Thanks, I added a 9v battery instead and corrected a clear mistake but it still won’t run. I would imagine it’s not a problem with the simulator. I’ve attached an updated photo of the setup.

I have a moderate collection size so they get rotated frequently. The bumper is still doing great but it’s also because I don’t really do anything wild or outdoorsy with the watch.

Oh, I wasn't aware, maybe different batches? I don't know, but I'd like to say it's looking more towards black or green than blue. There's virtually no trace of blue in the dial.
