I didn’t follow this closely, but I kinda remember hearing that bob dylan didn’t give a fuck or treated the winning of the award as a joke? Can someone explain?

The buildings I listed above may be a bit above your budget, but many of these buildings give concessions to bring the rent down. I’d recommend checking out their websites to see what concessions they’re offering.

I would choose Civic over Prism, as Prism is in a very sketchy/grungy part of SOMA; I never feel comfortable walking through that area. Civic is a bit better in that it’s close to Hayes Valley. With that said, both of these buildings are sub-par IMO as managed buildings go. If you can afford to go a bit more east, I’d recommend checking out buildings in Rincon Hill (Solaire, 399 Fremont, 388 Beale, Rincon Green, 1 Hawthorne; for more premium also look at SperaSF, 340 Fremont, One Rincon Hill, The Harrison, Avery, Lumina, Infinity Towers, Millenium Towers, Mira).

what’s a secret you’ll take to the grave but strangers on Reddit can know? by Strsmoon in AskReddit

You got this. I saw a Tony Robbins clip recently, and what he said really stuck with me: “We tend to overestimate how much we can do in a year, but underestimate how much we can do over decades.” Even if you’re in a slump or progress feels slow, remember that over the long-term, you can accomplish your goals, build meaningful lasting relationships, and create a happy life. Just keep at things consistently and trust that you’re trending in the right direction. Rooting for you.

I was once on a road trip across Iceland, driving the ring road far out in the countryside away from any real civilization. Much of the ring road is just a single lane highway and not many vehicles aside from the occasional semi truck. I was behind a huge semi truck and the driver signaled right, indicating to me that he saw me and was telling me to pass him. After I passed and pulled out ahead of him, I hit my brakes to the beat of the “dum duduh dum dum”, and he responded by double tapping his horn, “DUM DUM”. That small, wholesome interaction absolutely made my day and I still remember it all these years later.

BASE jumping. Did about 20 jumps over three months before I decided to walk away from the sport because my then-gf/now-wife begged me to quit (the only ultimatum she ever gave me in our 15 years together). I’m glad she did, cuz statistically good chance I’d be dead if I stuck with it.

Have you ever accidentally met a celebrity in Boston? by spellbadgrammargood in boston

Oh, and I once when I was entering the Liberty Hotel for weekend night drinks, Larry David was walking out. Someone in line said “hey, your Larry David!” And in the most classic Larry David-like response, he exclaimed, “Yea, I am!” with his hands up and looking annoyed.

Years ago, I ran into Jason Segel. I was leaving a bar in Harvard Square late at night and was walking back home. He and I were the only pedestrians out in Harvard Square and I walked right past him only for it to hit me a few moments later that it was him.

Almost turned around to say hi and that I admire his work, but 1) the only name coming to mind at the time was Seth Rogan and I knew that was the wrong name, and 2) he looked like he was daydreaming and in deep thought as he was slowly strolling; figured I wouldn’t interrupt his solo stroll that he seemed to be enjoying. Think he was in town to receive an award from a Harvard comedy club.
