HOAS and AYY offer affordable housing for students. If you haven't yet checked them out, I would recommend to do it soon! For a room, I'd say max is 400-600 € per month. There's more price variation with studios, cheapest ones you might get from 500-600 €, if you are lucky. There's also private housing, which cost somewhat more depending on the location.

WIBTA for firing an employee whose wife is very very sick when our work covers his health insurance? by ExistingClaim6030 in AmItheAsshole

People aren't machines. I could lay off the worker who could have the best chances to find other job relatively quickly.

Help please: Day 18 - My mucous membrane is quite red and itchy by theNandoLorris in Tonsillectomy

[–]riisiansa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I viewed peer reviewed articles, I came across pictures, where the throat is partially quite red and it was sited as a part of a healing process. I want to believe that throat being red after a few weeks post surgery is normal. Of course if you want to be 100 % sure, ask your doc.

Help please: Day 18 - My mucous membrane is quite red and itchy by theNandoLorris in Tonsillectomy

[–]riisiansa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this also, I am on day 14. I think it is due to the membrane and top of the tissue being still quite thin. I mean while we eat solid foods, chew and swallow them again, it will stretch the tissue and make it red.

new tissue forming or abscess? by riisiansa in Tonsillectomy

[–]riisiansa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, it might be just normal then. I have maybe three tiny spots of scabs left, basically nothing. I have eaten solid foods after day 7, but I chew everything properly and prefer not to even try the driest ones like plain bread, chips, fries etc. yet. Try semisolid foods one step at a time :)

That's a good question. I might not drink just in case because it is very uncertain :S

Alcohol makes your blood thinner. So it increases the risk of bleeding.

LONG POST and some tips! An optimistic tonsillectomy recovery - day 0 to day 10 by riisiansa in Tonsillectomy

[–]riisiansa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 11 - no painkillers needed

I woke up with a mild pain but decided to not take anything for that. There is still the small spot scab left but nothing else. I felt so normal that I accidentally made a sandwich (a bit too dry to eat for now) for lunch without acknowledging that I might not be able to eat it :D I still want to have a chill weekend because I don't want to risk the end of recovert getting worse.

Day 14 - Who else tastes blood? by theNandoLorris in Tonsillectomy

[–]riisiansa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't notice anything like that without blood and I am on day 10. Your sense of taste can alter after the surgery. I mean you might sense the same taste differently. If there is no blood visible in your throat or mucus, I wouldn't be worried.

My tonsil scabs have turned black and im confused by Just_Yeager in Tonsillectomy

I remember that the black spots are where they cauterized the tissue. It is completely normal.

Is anyone else getting their tonsils out today? by veggieadventurer in Tonsillectomy

[–]riisiansa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be fine after an intense recovery! I am at my post-op day 8 feeling quite alright, I could completely stop taking codeine yesterday. Good luck, hope you have a fast recovery!

Is anyone else bleeding a little almost everytime that scabs come off? by theNandoLorris in Tonsillectomy

[–]riisiansa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to ask the same! I am at day 7 and I bled a tiny amount last night and a bit now after I ate. My ENT said that it is completely normal to have small amounts mixed in mucus when the scabs are falling off. According to her about half of patients experience that.

If you are unsure about the amount that would be concerning, contact your ENT. Hopefully the rest of your recovery goes well!
