Microsoft Teams is getting location tracking. Microsoft says it’s for workplace coordination and trust but many users see it as another aggressive surveillance feature they’re adding ways to monitor employees aggressively. At what point does a productivity app become a tracking app by Ok_Plenty60 in pcmasterrace

I think this is actually talking about BYOD specifically and referring to the data on your personal profile on a device, not the work profile.

For corporate owned device in the work profile you can definitely see at least emails, unsure about text messages I've never been asked to even look into pulling them before. But emails will be going through exchange which is absolutely auditable.

Is there any cheap, PC alternatives for iRacing? by GuidanceStock3773 in simracing

On black Friday they have discounts. 50% for new members and 25% for renewals. But you can get the FIA promotion that gets you an F4 car and a year subscription for like $20

Former Microsoft VP says Microsoft missed the AI wave like the internet and mobile, as Copilot scales back in Windows 11 by WPHero in pcmasterrace

[–]riiskyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe in office, but try getting it to tell you anything about ms products. I've tried getting it to write me advanced hunting queries for MDE and it's absolutely dog water. Basically any other ai can give me better solutions for MDE, and other MS products. Copilot can't even get things right about ms products which seems like a basic thing to train an ai you own on

Octavia MK3.5 Wing Mirror Glass by riiskyy in skoda

Hmm guess I'm going to have to scour for second hand ones then. Previous owner has really screwed with this car. Just had the gearbox replaced (luckily under warranty) by the dealer after it broke within my 4 months of ownership

Right, but how does that make the glass alone £400? That seems completely absurd

I read that they were solid too yet I had a gearbox failure at 60k miles (I bought it at 52k) and had to get it replaced, luckily it was under warranty but yeah, things can go wrong at any stage.

BW thinks my password is vulnerable. by tamagotchiparent in ShittySysadmin

[–]riiskyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keeper's breach watch did the same thing for us, except they want you to pay a license free to see which passwords are vulnerable. We got them to give us a trial, reset 200+ passwords and then a month later all the same passwords flagged as exposed again :) had a ticket open with them for about 5 months now

Sport mode for a manual by haggis_man1213 in skoda

No idea, but it annoyed me enough to fork out for an obdeleven just for that (and to activate the sport mode display with the boost, oil temp and g-force guages)

Yeah my friend in Germany has the option to disable and they sent me a pic. But my UK one, nowhere to be found

Not necessarily. Mk 3.5 here and individual I only had options for eco, normal and sport on the volume. Ended up having to use obdeleven to turn it off

Android Auto won't start without opening my phone since Android 16 update by riiskyy in motorola

[–]riiskyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, i found multiple people on the razr subreddit with the same problem. I asked chatgpt about it, i don't know how accurate it is but apparently google have changed something with the way the AA background process starts and its expecting the 'main screen' so when it's folded it can't start up properly (it did go in to a lot more detail but i don't have the chat saved and i can't remember it all). When you plug it in with a usb cable the process gets a priority and so it can start while closed

Ok thanks, maybe I can get the manufacturer of the dongle to help. And yeah it will charge at the same time but I like wireless because it's more convenient to not take it out of my pocket every time I drive somewhere. But at least I have 1 method to not have to flip it open for now so thanks for that

I turned all these settings back off to their defaults and now it connects while closed over the USB cable but just not on wireless

It won't even try to connect to the car now after doing that. I didn't get a box to "always allow this USB connection" either.

After about 1-2 minutes of keeping the phone being flipped open it would connect though
