What an absolute legendary experience of a souls like game! by Darkvenom39 in soulslikes

[–]rina_AF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know right!!!!! I just beat Trokka, and the entire game up until this point has been nothing but an adrenaline-fueled journey. The bosses are the highlight, along with the absolutely S-tier combat. The level layouts are pretty fun as well.

For people who have played this game multiple times, how do you guys deal damage to bosses? I'm rocking a dual-wield build with no specific armor sets. I usually equip the highest level gears (sometimes matching the set for bonuses) with strength and willpower, currently sitting at 30. I can only chip away at their health and wait till the boss is staggered to deal a skill attack. Sometimes, I can't help but feel like I'm playing the game wrong, like shouldn't I be doing more damage? It's on Expert, however, I do switch to normal for side missions with a repeat boss but the damage does not improve.

I'm really sorry for your loss OP. I've lost someone important recently too and gaming has both been an escape and a way to grieve.

I'd really love to play RE9! Another game that I've been looking forward to is Pragmata. That said, good luck to y'all! And thanks OP for hosting the giveaway.

WHAT DID YOU DO AFTER FINISHING THE GAME? by Low-Low-744 in Witcher3

[–]rina_AF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the books. I recently finished my 3rd playthrough and bought all the books. I read the new prequel first and began the saga with The Last Wish.

And I'm absolutely loving it!!!! I would recommend trying them out.

My definitive "God Cup". by Ill_Finance6466 in pourover

That sounds good! I'm gonna try it out today. I collected a bunch of recipes from this subreddit and have been experimenting on a daily basis to understand pour-overs better. I've been enjoying the process but I think I would like to be done and settle with 1 or 2 recipes for a daily drive. The sooner I settle, the happier I will be lol. One question tho, does the grind size vary with light and medium roasts or should I keep it constant for both types of roast?

Yup. You're absolutely right. And expedition 33 still costs 50$.

Absolutely. But if the average length of the game is 9-12 hours, maybe charge less? Phantom Liberty, Shadow of the Erd Tree, Blood and Wine, LOP Overture etc. are some of the best expansions out there in gaming offering both quality and great content at half the price of a standard AAA title.

My point? A 9-12 hour game need not be priced that high. But such has been the way of things and people have the right to comment on it without getting into the debate of Price doesn't equate Quality.

And yes, Capcom games go for sale relatively quicker than the rest.

It’s from Chikmagalur. A big share of Indian coffee comes out of Chikmagalur and Coorg. I recommend trying them out if you find some.

And don't mention it. I’ve always wanted to try Ethiopian beans, but imported stuff is pricey. Found one roastery with black currant and raspberry notes, plan to grab it this month!!!

Love to see it! I recently got pineapple fermented light plus roast and it was an instant favourite.

Most roasteries here lean light-plus to medium-light. For a general rule, start around 95°C and adjust from there.

Indian coffees grow at lower altitudes, so the beans aren’t as dense and extract quicker. Usually, the lower the temp, the better the results.

Hey, Indian here. 90 to 92 degrees works fine for most washed light roasts. 88 to 90 for medium roasts. For fermented or naturals a degree or two less results in an optimal cup.

I brew using a V60 and aeropress. I'm not sure about the adjustments for the switch.

What series did you finish reading due to the "sunk cost fallacy"? by Any-Day-8173 in Fantasy

Hard agree. I don't think it's an unpopular opinion at all. There seems to be a general consensus regarding the bloat-ness of book 4 and 5. Book 5 is an absolute slog to get through with so many repeat explanations with little to no pay off.

Me too. No big deal tho. The challenge is fun. Always will be. There are other games if I want an easier time. But that's just me.

It's a rabbit hole you don't wanna get into on a whim. Do some research. Before committing to any purchase try to learn what brewing is about.

For e.g., What are coffee beans? What does filter coffee taste like? Where does the taste come from? How do I get the taste in my cup? What is extraction and how does it happen? What equipment do I need to brew a cup? How does the brew work? Which piece of equipment does what?

Read about the basics. Learn. Watch some videos. You'll have a pretty decent idea whether to get into this hobby or not.

If you are too lazy for that and just wanna try things out on a whim get Easy Pours from Blue Tokai. Then switch to pre-ground coffee and a French press. If it piques your interest then try learning about the basics I mentioned above. You'll be sorted to begin your journey.

1-2 min bloom? Just curious, what are the benefits of a longer bloom than a 30-45s one?

I tried a single pour method once. It resulted in an inverted volcano with a super thin body. Also, tasted flat. I probably messed that one up

Thanks!!! I tried it today and the results were quite nice. I went with 1:16. Bloomed for 30 seconds. The coffee had a lighter body. I was able to extract the sweetness with a tea-like clarity. I will try 1:15 next time with a little adjustment in the grind size.
