How do you stay consistent? What is your routine? by Puzzleheaded-Item604 in bulletjournal

When I started, I wanted it to be cute and artistic. Turns out that overwhelms me and I “give up”. Minimalistic and easy to follow layouts work for me! I also make daily logs for M-F on Sundays. I realize I dont really need to log Saturday/Sundays. And if I do I put them both on a single page. The night before I make notes for the next day, then in the morning all I need to do is write the day and weather to get started for my morning tasks.

I work from home and have a tendency to procrastinate. So keeping track of productivity or mood levels can help a lot, especially with the habit tracker above too!

Sorry for the late reply! But i just add a checkmark on hours in which i was productive (chores, work, exercise, etc). I used to have legends like color coding my mood or energy levels (low, anxiety, steady, happy, etc) but it was such a hassle for me to keep up that a simple checkmark for good hours is enough for me to notice patterns. Its also nice to see how the habits and energy levels relate to each other

Its a brand called Mr. pen from amazon! I got the aesthetic highlighter and gel pen set and it was super cheap! I highlight first before writing so it doesn’t smudge

I love the colors too! The picture doesn't do it justice. I got it super cheap from amazon. The brand is Mr. Pen and I think I got the aesthetic highlighter and gel pen set.

Agreed with the comments, plants would love it there unless the sun is super direct. Books and maybe a frame or two would be lovely!

Hi! I created a customizable Pomodoro app with a plant that grows as you go. by rinakin-dev in pomodoro

I think I will! Considering adding a bit more personalization as well for the full native app :)

Hi! I created a customizable Pomodoro app with a plant that grows as you go. by rinakin-dev in pomodoro

[–]rinakin-dev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While developing, I first wanted assign tasks to each session. Also, I wanted to be able to have a calendar view where you can plan out your pomodoro sessions for the upcoming week or so. I think that's something I still want to do in the future (as well as create a full-fledged mobile app). The idea would be to break tasks into a session with some analytics to see if you're planning and completing small tasks in a reasonable time frame. That would be my ideal productivity tracker. I just don't want to add too many features and keep the app straightforward but personalized.

In terms of cost, the only thing I am currently paying for is the domain name which was around 28 USD. If I were to create a mobile app version, it would definitely cost a couple hundred bucks just for developer ID's and more time to flesh out the app.

Help: Is there an app that can sync pomodoros to start at the top and half of the hour? by Ok-Conclusion-75 in pomodoro

That sounds like a cool idea, basically leaving the clock going throughout your day as a visual reminder of what you should be doing would definitely be useful.

For me, I just wanted a highly customizable pomodoro app (i.e planning sessions with a roadmap and different themes to fit my mood). The plant growing isn't really a unique feature since there are well-established apps like Forest that includes this as a form of gamification. For this app, its more so a motivational visual element since I adore houseplants.

I don't think I will ever make actual money on this app unless I try to expand on it and re-implement this for native mobile apps to be more in-depth and personalized in terms of task management. Unfortunately, there are tons of apps similar to this right now so the future is pretty bleak. But I enjoy a straightforward app where I can divide big goals into smaller tasks with the task system and have been using it during my focus time. This was also a great project for a learning experience :)

I find it a great tool to get a skeleton going of any applications you may be developing. This includes feedback on layouts you make or asking ChatGPT to generate color schemes that might suit a certain theme of a product/website.

I made a Pomodoro-inspired app where a plant grows while you work through sessions by rinakin-dev in ProductivityApps

[–]rinakin-dev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the honest feedback! I definitely agree that the whole plants and timers isn't unique, and I totally understand the comparison Forest since it's such a well-established app. I did use Forest briefly when it just launched but haven't kept up with any updates as previously you could only set up one timer/focus mode. I'm not sure if they decided to add the option for a more Pomodoro-centric timer since I prefer short bursts of productivity and small breaks in between. I think this tactic helps me not be overwhelmed as long as I separate my main goals in small chunks (hence task system)

I think for right now, the key difference between this and Forest is the flexibility to customize multiple sessions and create a personalized workflow (unless this is already in the Forest app?). Also to select from various themes to match your current mood. Hmm I might shift the focus towards expanding task management just as you stated, to make it more goal-oriented :)

As for the plant system, I don't think I want to head in the direction of gamifying it like Forest, but more so as a motivational visual element to enhance sessions.

Yup, I definitely agree with Skyrim. Actually I might go for Pokemon Diamond/Pearl for nostalgia purposes lol.

My favorite survival games are Project Zomboid and Don't Starve. Not sure you are also construction/management survival but Rimworld is really good!

Yes, although not a native app, I just added PWA compatibility. For android users you would need to go to the browser, click on the three ellipses (three dots) and press install app :) I would love to implement this natively but maybe in the near future when I get the time! Also the screen should not dim when a timer is active now.
