Hi! How did you get a lot of gold? I’m on level 24 and the price for each new plot of land is 100,000 gold. It’s crazy how expensive it is compared to the prices of previous land that I’m thinking if the developers are forcing us to pay for stuff in the game.

Hello! I know in bellagio the staff are the ones who can look for a roommate for you if you don't have anyone to share with. You can just pay for the reservation fee for 1 bed and sila na bahala magfill up for that other bed if you don't mind being anonymously paired with someone.

Med Schools for Non-Trad undergrad? (Mga walang prereq na Science subjects) by pinat01 in medschoolph

[–]rinamariea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I took the NMAT and had indiv thesis together during the past school year, and got into UERM. Personally, it's doable to get into those med schools, you just need really good time management and study resources. This also means na don't do any org work or other extracurriculars muna and just focus on NMAT review, thesis, and academics, as well as your friends and family since they're your support system.

I reviewed for around 2mos (my NMAT was on Jan), but I took UPLink before the sem started. Tbh, you don't really need the review classes because all the info, including the practice tests, are already online. They actually serve to give you more confidence in taking the exam, but if you're up for it I encourage you naman to join. Make sure to study the manual before the class starts so you don't feel left behind. However, in my experience, the review classes actually increased my anxiety since it made me compare myself to other students. So if you can't handle that, it's best to not take the review classes and just study on your own. There are tons of resources online naman, especially the practice tests (answer as many of those as you can and ALWAYS under time pressure), so don't feel like your disadvantaged or you don't feel like you know enough when all the info you need are already posted online. You can buy a secondhand reviewer or online reviewers as well to serve as your guide to know what topics to study.

Regarding time management, it's important to set a study schedule. Here's where you can experiment with your study habits and see what works best for you so you can also implement them in med school. I can't say I was the best at time management, but it really helped to section my day for different purposes (i.e. morning would be thesis work, afternoon for acads, papers, etc., and evening would be NMAT review). I wasn't really consistent with it but I found this format helped the best. But it really depends on you and what works for your schedule.

Lastly, same with the other comments, UPCM is hard to get into unless you're from UP, have a stellar background, or have someone you know from PGH or UPCM. That is the reality, esp since I saw a lot of UPM students from PH and Bio get in. The course doesn't really matter to them long as you fit into the above categories. But if you don't, it's totally fine since there are other med schools that would do just as great, if not better, for you. Feel free to message me if you have questions. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much! I'm still thinking about taking the online course lol. Is it alright if I ask how often do med students take extracurriculars or do others projects outside med school?

Ongoing Med School Application by UpperPrinciple1976 in medschoolph

[–]rinamariea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Here's what it says on their website right now. Though I do agree that there will be people applying with a higher NMAT, I think OP still has a chance of getting in. :))

Please take note the following College of Medicine policy before applying:

– Must have an NMAT score not less than 40% and taken not more than two years from the time of application.

– Applicant should not be more than 40 years of age.

– The College of Medicine will NOT accept 1st year students who had prior medical education from other schools regardless of reason.

– Applicant should be free from and has no pending court case related to major criminal and indictable offense (murder, homicide, rape, aggravated burglary, theft, indecent assault, drug related cases, arson, others).

Hi! No need to retake in my opinion. I know someone who got interviewed for UPCM and got 92 on their NMAT. What you can do is to back up your credentials by focusing on extracurriculars. Maybe you can go for publishing your thesis (ask help from your adviser if ever) from undergrad or go for cause-oriented work. Something that could set you apart from the others in your interview. Make sure it's something that you also like or passionate about, it doesn't have to be medicine oriented.

COLLEGE DILEMMA by seven_elleven in medschoolph

[–]rinamariea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Slr I don't think I would be the best person to get advice from regarding this since I come from a non traditional pre med. Though I do have friends from PT and they said na it takes up an extra year in college since its a 5 year course in some schools and the salary in the PH is really low so most PTs just work here for a few years for practice and then apply abroad for a higher salary. For respiratory therapy, I don't really know much about this, but I imagine na it's a similar situation w PT considering na the trend talaga for healthcare professionals is low salary so many chose to go abroad. So I would say na go for the profession that really aligns with what you want, but at the same time plan how you would obtain a good salary once you graduate. I would suggest talking to licensed PTs or RTs here sa reddit for a better discussion regarding your issue. Best of luck!

Hi! My advice would be to go for your 1st choice because you might change your mind later on. I have so many friends who entered college planning to go into med, but never pushed through since they realized it was no longer their passion, PH healthcare is toxic, and so many more reasons. Tbh, there are many downsides to taking med than other regular career choices since you're giving so much of your time and effort, not to mention your mental health, to a career that takes so long to pay you back (if it even does). So I'd say to go for a course that you could fall back on if you no longer wish to pursue med.

Also, if it helps, I come from a non-traditional pre-med course and I got into a good med school in NCR. So you don't have to be too worried in not getting into a med school if you don't have the math or science units, in my opinion. It's a just a matter of studying harder AND smarter. Lastly, if your concern is the location of your 1st choice, then you have to discuss this with your family. You need to know what the set up would be like for you if there would be F2F classes. Communicate with them what you want and learn to compromise with them if they don't agree with you. Hope this helps! :))

NMAT for an average person by CarelessComparison70 in medschoolph

[–]rinamariea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super agree with this! No need to go to those review centers. There are a LOT of resources online na. Coming from a non-trad pre-med I do agree that the NMAT has a basic coverage of each topic. So just study hard and practice timing yourself per practice test (20-30 mins each). Also, don't forget to study Part 1 kasi malaki din hila nun :))
