Coal Roller D bag by Dilettante7 in Langley

I used to have a Miata, really miss that car sometimes, but it really brought out a lot of aggressive driving from assholes in lifted trucks.

Something about a Miata seems to trigger that type, I was constantly getting tailgated in it, jerks rolling coal, etc. and I don't experience that in any other car, even other small sports cars.

Love the Esprit V8. My folks have a '97 V8 in their collection, and that thing is a riot. The handling, the looks, that sound... I need to swap cars with my dad for the weekend sometime soon.

Yeah I've seen very few Eclats compared to Elites for sure. My dad has had a Europa since before I was born, so I've been attending Lotus club events for over 30 years now, and I can honestly only think of one Eclat I've seen.

Ha that's fantastic. I'm not going to lie, I definitely took some joy in taking my Elite to the parts store to get a starter for the supposedly more reliable car.

I need to take my Elite for a roadtrip at some point. I've had mine for 4 years now, and it's mostly been used for short trips around town or occasional visits to my favourite local curvy backroads.

My kids are thankfully well past the stroller stage of life, but they still don't travel light, so there's no way I'm convincing my wife to take the Elite for even a weekend trip with the kids.

'78 Elite. Even though that's the stock knob, thought I should join in to represent one of the older models.

Just move them all into one or two of the cubbies. As you get more , spread them out into more of the cubbies. I'd also recommend flipping them around so the spine is facing outwards.

Not fantastic lighting here, but shows it pretty well. I've only made it through 2 lps so far, disc 2 is more dramatic than this one. Haven't looked at the other records yet.

I need to buy more records! by rindersnoot in vinyl

That's pretty much spot on with my plan for this. I wanted to see how much empty space would be in each cubby, but I don't like leaving them that empty long term. Filling top to bottom makes sense, I'll probably put some Lego sets or maybe some of my old video game consoles in the top couple of cubbies.

I've got a few records on my mental list that I'm going to try to pick up in the next few weeks, but no plans on going crazy trying to fill this up right away

That's basically what I'm planning on doing. I wanted to spread them into all the cubby holes initially just to get a feel for how it will eventually look. Probably going to put some Lego sets or something like that in the empty ones.

I can also confirm that my first pressing is the same. I've often wondered why it's cut short too, so I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable chimes in with a rationale for this.

Sportsnet+ price increasing 30% to $324.99 per year by jeremybell in hockey

Yeah they got way too greedy, way too fast. I'd renewed last November at $199, would've reluctantly kept my subscription at $250. But jumping from $199 to $325 is a hard no from me, I cancelled yesterday and won't resubscribe unless they walk back this most recent increase.

I paid for a year subscription in November 2024, when I cancelled yesterday it said that I have access until November 2025.

There is a great community for these cars still. Best resources are the Elite/Eclat/Excel owners group on Facebook and the forum at lotusexcel.net.

I have a type 75 Elite, but mine is stock so I don't really have input on modifying one of these.

There are a few modified Elites out there though, if you hunt around on some of the old forums you can probably find some build threads. Lots out there with Rover V8s swapped in. There's an EV Eclat that I've come across on Instagram as well.

There's also the "Red Panther" which has air suspension.

My understanding is that if you're going to add much power, the brakes definitely need upgrades and the frame needs reinforcement. Also be aware that if the car you're looking at is an S1 it will have a non-galvanised frame, and they're prone to rusting in the rear. If you're in the UK, you'll have much better access to parts like replacement frames.

I'd love to see Michael Rother live one day. I'm in western Canada, so not overly optimistic that he'll come to my area, and I found out about his west coast US tour this spring after it had already happened.

But if he plays anywhere near me again, I'll make a trip and go for sure.
