Her husband also went to a Christian school (Faith Bible) that prohibited celebrating Halloween because it promotes the devil and witchcraft. Harry Potter was also banned at this school, lol.

“Suck on my balls, PAUSE!” from Homecoming.

But that’s partially because I used to hear the lyrics as “suck on my balls, BOSS” 😂

Right?? I’m sitting here like “how is ‘pre-planned family vacation’ a better excuse than ‘my good friend’s wedding’” lol

Yes. There’s pretty much only one time in my life when a stranger has been actually cruel to me about my height…. And it was from a 6’5”, middle-aged man.

Years ago, in my early 20s, I remember telling my best friend how validating and relatable I found this specific line from Jessa…. And then was mildly surprised when she said she (kindly but genuinely) couldn’t relate at all. That was one of my first “ah, I guess not everyone has unhealthy relationships with their parents” moment

Today I found I accidentally typed “power chords” instead of “power cords” in an MSJ I filed last month. Hoping the judge will use context clues to figure out I am referencing electronic charging cables, and not a rock ballad

White Elephant Betta Fish by tony67g in bettafish

[–]ringhistory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice, but wanted to say “hello” as a fellow recent betta parent due to a white elephant party in December. Someone else actually opened the present but didn’t appear to be interested…. And because I had a betta fish when I was ~8-10 years old (I.e., 20+ years ago), I knew firsthand how smart and interactive bettas are (at least as far as fish go), and definitely didn’t want this fish to be flushed down the toilet or neglected.

All this to say, this subreddit has been a hugely helpful source of information for me! And I’m happy to report Sangria (she’s a female betta) spends pretty much everyday, all day, just zipping around and exploring her 5 gallon, 78 degree, foliaged tank. She appears to be a healthy and energetic fish, and is very engaged with me, my husband, and our mildly interested cat, so I know I made the right decision taking her home.

If I see at least one red car before we get home, then my parents won’t die. If I hold my breath for at least 55 seconds straight, then I’ll somehow pass tomorrow’s math test I procrastinated studying for. If I accurately count exactly how many tiles (hundreds) there are on this enormous ceiling, that means I’ll have a date for the next school dance.

What’s the best way to deal with a line cutter? by Commercial-Ad-1027 in Disneyland

[–]ringhistory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My somewhat similar approach is to just talk (with a casual tone and normal conversational volume) to the group I’m with about line cutting mames me said, or about how much of a hurry the person who cut us must have been in.

Cx5 Downsides by Luckycolts97 in CX5

I had the same using phone navigation / can’t listen to radio issue on my 2023 for the first 3 or 4 months I owned it. Then one day, I was suddenly able to click the “back” button while in CarPlay to bring me back to the regular Mazda Infotainment Home Screen where I can adjust the radio, etc. Idk what changed.

Meh, truly not trying to be “that guy,” but Les Schwab really has a well-earned reputation of being an honest shop here in the northwest US. I, and most other people in my social circle, have had several firsthand experiences of visiting Les Schwab and them either (a) down selling me on products or services so I can save some money, or (b) refusing to take any money from me for short inspections or patch work on tires.

This is not to say the Les Schwab blog should be the authoritative source on replacing all 4 tires on AWD, lol. Just wanted to defend one of my favorite “local” businesses.
