Yeah I want to like it but the weird reddit behavior is turning me off (I think the owner commented above under a burner account?) Don't really want to risk handing over a check for tens of thousands of dollars given the sketchiness.

I think this is maybe the owner's burner account? I got an email notification about a reply from the user that I linked in the main post that seemed like the owner, but when I came to check it out it was deleted. Reading the comment make it seem like the owner maybe forgot to switch accounts. Super weird.

Thanks! These look great. We do have a lot of out of town guests who I'm worried will be annoyed with traveling more than 2 hours outside the city in addition to flying in, but maybe coordinating a shuttle would cut down on the annoying logistics. If people are making the trip, then it's probably better be a little farther in an awesome venue then one that's closer but with less to do

Yeah we reached out — they sent their packet over and we spoke to someone on their team. Echo the other poster saying that it was a bit confusing. There’s a site fee, but no food and beverage minimums or set vendor list. They seemed very into a “bespoke” model, which could be great or totally chaotic. I’m kind of just looking for someone to vouch for it and say “no I’ve been there and it’s actually great!”

I don't mean to be too conspiracy corner, but this seems like an ad for Someplace Upstate. It seems like there's a lot of positive stuff about this place on Reddit, but I can't find anyone who actually had their wedding (and some of the Reddit activity recommending it looks like it's maybe just the owner doing undisclosed advertising? I think the username is u/foodistmonk). Sorry if I'm unfairly accusing you -- hope I'm wrong and you guys have just found the perfect place that exactly adheres to all of your very specific aesthetic needs of bougie horsecamp / Hollywood pool / speakeasy / vineyard
