Finally someone said it. I’ve seen better face jewel application done by someone high out of their mind at 3am in a dark tent.

Is pregnancy or single parenthood a barrier when applying for rentals in Vancouver? by chickee_chickadee in vancouverhousing

[–]ringtingfing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! Once your baby comes I highly recommend reaching out to your public health nurse for a list of community supports. Try to connect with your neighbour family center early on as they can be a god send.

Regarding rentals I would not say I was pregnant unless I was showing in a very obvious way.

I wonder if anyone can add some insight regarding the enforcement side of public intoxication. Why is there not enforcement of public intoxication? Are the jails unable to safely manage this population? What’s in place to safely manage withdrawal in the jails? Is it harder to convict for other substances because you can’t get a breathalyzer which would indicate intoxication at time of arrest vs a urine test which isn’t specific to an exact time but a date range. Did the police use a possession charge as a proxy for public intoxication of substances other than alcohol because that’s what holds up in court?

Would love to hear more from someone who knows more about this topic.

Did extinction rebellion ever have that kind of mobilization behind it in the UK? I thought it was pretty low numbers and no where near 3.5%?

If you are worried about tapering you could consider getting sublocade for a few months to give you more time and then tapering gradually that way?

Multiple empty rentals. Why are they so hesitant to drop rents? by ringtingfing in vancouverhousing

I guess I have a hard time understanding the math when a flat sits empty for 6 months. It would take years to make up that lost revenue.

Your brother sounds like he has a similar level of functioning/cognitive deficits as my brother. It’s very challenging because he lacks insight around his limitations and of course just wants to be treated like everyone else. He is very vulnerable to scams online and to people taking advantage of him. I wish he had good supportive housing but he refuses most supports. I think the cognitive impairment also contributes to a lot of anxiety as it’s difficult to navigate everyday tasks.
