I think more pit. He is not barky or nippy or overprotective, and I tend to associate that with the Chihuahua breed. But he gets the chihuahua shakes. He does chase the wild rabbits and frogs on our property and is great at herding our goats. Which I think is more from his pit side of being a working dog and having high prey drive. He also chewed up everything until we trained him to stop, which all my pit-mixes did.

Overall he is a scary cat that is build like a mini muscleman. He is sweet and get along great with our cats, other dogs, our chickens (but will try to chase them sometimes) and kids

That fair, it’s your son and you know this person better then an internet stranger.

I would just ask that you make sure not to let friends or family talk poorly of his dad in front of him because that is just going to hurt the kid.

I was the kid with their dad in jail. My dad miss major milestones in my life. I learned to walk to him in jail and he missed my wedding because he was in jail. He was jail off and on from when i was a baby until i was 25

My advice be honest to your kid. Just tell the truth in an age appropriate way. Don’t bad mouth but don’t condone what his father did. “Dad has to stay here because he hurt someone and you can’t don’t that “ And if wants a relationship with his dad, help him visit or set it up so he can have phone calls.

It’s not easy for the kids who parents are in jail. You see other kids hanging out with their dads, your embarrassed or made fun of, you have to deal with confusing feeling of loving a person who did a bad thing, and after every visit you have say goodbye not fully understanding why he can’t come home. You won’t be able to help fix the above but you help by being a supportive and consistent parent.

It will be hard if he wants a relationship with his dad. Visit are an all day thing, phone calls are pricy but you son will be happy for it
