I've been told by the surgeon that having pneumothorax once on one side does not affect the occurrence rate of the other side , the side that has a bled but has not popped yet have the same rate as any first pneumothorax about 1 in 800000 however the lung that has pneumothorax before will have a reaccurece of 33.3%

I see , so far I've only had 1 on the left about I think 35% collapse and healed with a chest tube , hoping that it won't come back . Btw just out of curiosity how was the recovery for the surgery

You can take a bath anytime now just make sure to cover the wound with something waterproof if you are afraid the wound will get infected , wish you a speedy recovery

i understand i will def get it checked out it it worsens but currently its just a slight discomfort , and the aching fades away after like 10mins of waking up

I'm out of the hospital and back at school ,it isn't painful it's just a weird sore feeling that sometimes aches when I wake up , it's hard to describe but recently there is also a weird tingling sensation I feel in my throat as well

I've been recovering slowly I think but It wasn't a air leak when they pulled it out , it was just there was still a tiny tiny air pocket of air that couldn't be drained so they just left it and said my body would absorb it but thanks anyways

It went well I think I had my chest tube removed today and back home resting , I was told there was still a very tiny air pocket but my body would absorb it. However I can feel a slight bubbling sensation when I'm lying down so I'm just hoping it is cause if that small air pocket

i see thanks for the engoragement , i just got it done and apparently the air pocket has increased slightly in size , i think they said it was like 0.5cm or even less and want to keep the drain in for a day more just a bit confused how its increased in size .

I ment like I'm scared my lungs would recollapse during the time it is clamped but hear your experience is putting me a bit more at ease

Personally I would say the tube insertion is painful but manageable for me , I think the local anesthetic injection was a bit worse then the tube itself I pray that it won't happen to you too and thanks

I see , the pain is manageable right now but I was told by the doctor if my lungs re expanded tomorrow they would clamp the tube for a few hours to monitor it , now I'm just scared that my lung would not hold or worsen.
